"Experience Packages"...

Parents are, for want of a better description, being taken to the cleaners by the club, I could not believe that the latest "offers" have just been announced on the OS called "experience packages"...well what an offer...
"Mascot packages are available to children aged between five and 11 from £325 per child, giving young Addicks fans the chance to make their dreams come true. Click here to purchase your mascot package".
Out of reach of most parents wanting to treat their kid to something special, imagine if you had two or three kids, absolute rip off imo, can not see the justification for such a cost FROM £325.00 ffs Charlton...

Probably covers the price for 3 tickets now days 😆. Jokes aside, should be free, shouldn't be sweating every single money making opportunity, bit scummy imo.

It used to be free. The child would get a look around behind the scenes, meet players and staff. Be on the pitch as now and then get a photo of themselves in the centre circle with the captains, officials and the other teams mascot.
I think there was a charge for the photo.
Mascots we’re drawn at random from the Junior Reds.
The good old days.5 -
Our club has become very greedy, anything to do with yank owners?

25 years ago it was about £250 plus we used to select one junior red for free.
from memory the kit had to be purchased on top of that cost0 -
I did it in the late 90s as a kid (led out by Sweaty Balmer), it was free as I was picked out of the Junior Reds. I think there may still be an element of that from whatever the Junior Reds is called these days, but charging £300+ is a joke.1

If you have more than one child just choose your favourite.12

I think it’s free for away games isnt it?
I also think it was about £250 around 12-years ago when my kids done it and then they fucked up the team photo so we just got one with Floyd and Harvey instead….0 -

Try having twins 🙈
I think 4 seasons ago in L1 it was £250. Bit of a pee take in hindsight they didn’t drop the price a bit as it was Covid times the kids couldn’t go in the dressing rooms, tunnel and basically lined up pitchside for when the players walked out.
still one of the best things we did though and don’t regret a penny of it4 -
I've got an experienced package. It looks like a tinned tomato5

Did it for my son for his birthday last season. £325.00 included:
3 tickets (Me the wife and son
Full kit
Snacks for the boy
Visit to the dressing room before the game to meet the manager and players
Photos (emailed to us after)
He got his shirt signed by the whole squad
Walked out with Conor Coventry
Had a kick around on the pitch
Worth every penny, he absolutely loved it, even though he don't look to happy here!

My boy did it in 2019. I was very glad it was free (I had signed him up to Junior Reds but the club didn't add him on the database and so he missed the parties/birthday card etc and by the time I remembered it was near the end of the season so they made him a mascot).
It was a wonderful experience but the other 3 mascots were from local schools. One turned up in an Arsenal shirt FFS. Our club went and got a shirt for him from the club shop (should have just told him he couldn't do it frankly). The local kids, none of whom were Charlton fans then all got to choose the player they wanted to walk out with (they just said "best striker" etc as they didn't know any of them) and my boy who knew all the players got last pick.
In hindsight it worked very well as he chose Dillon Phillips who was absolutely wonderful whilst the Arsenal boy got that snake Lyle.
I may have to pay for my little girl to do it this year.3 -
I'm still waiting for my parents to buy this for me all my life, and still nothing. They must really hate me 😭. Every year I buy the full kit in anticipation, and every year .... nothing.4

He done it early Roland era but by the times the others may have done it my expenditure at the club was as minimal as it could be so I stuck to my principles and bit my nose off to spite my face.
They've just had to make up for it by going on the pitch for semi final play off wins !!1 -

We've charged for mascots for many years, rightly or wrongly, under many different ownerships.2
