Oh well, the stick for me. Going to be the first Charlton Millwall game I’ve not watched in the flesh since… well I can’t remember. Sometime in the late 80’s I think.
Out of interest, what is 500 points at Millwall in terms of tickets and matches attended? Do you get 10 points per game like we do?
pretty much yeah. So you get 230 with your season ticket and any away games and cup games on top of that. It rolls over two seasons, the season we’re in and the last season

Yes. But I only did a couple of away games last season. Already done two this season and probably do another ten or so, plus any home cup games, so will be at 600+ next season, which is where they usually start at.
I have a number of Millwall mates and was thinking about coming over and getting hospitality with them but terrified we will lose to them and then the endless piss takes.......

I was replying to a post earlier up the thread as well as responding to the lols I got when I said my Millwall mate has four tickets in the East Stand. So what’s your point?
Makes me laugh all this who cares more stuff, we both care way more than other games.
They will celebrate each goal like a Wembley win as will we, all there is to it. Unless there's a higher stakes games like relegation or play-offs, this will be our biggest game of the season, the pair of us.

This is our best chance in my lifetime since 96'. I have never believed we could get a result until now.
We match them well, I would say their squad is a bit better, but we match them far better than other previous Charlton sides which were packed with pathetic footballers, our managers aren't too far apart in terms of quality. (A neutral would probably edge Neil)
Our home record is great, and it will take a very good team to beat us now, if they do it, fair enough, they will have deserved it, but we aren't a soft touch like we have been for well over 10 years. This team is better than Powell's Charlton & Bowyers imho, just think we have more resilience and belief.
Josh Edwards, Lloyd Jones, Conor Coventry, Ramsay, Bell, Tanto, etc, these players aren't like the wimps we have had roll over in this fixture.
We will certainly give them a good game and i agree we have a great chance to beat them. One thing we can say is, you know what you're going to get with us. Well drilled, solid at the back, every man knowing their job. However it depends which Millwall turns up though, the one that got a great win at Norwich, or the one that looked like a relegation team v Middlesbrough. I'm inclined to think that because it's against us, it'll be the former.
Can't wait for the atmosphere of this game. Just under 4 weeks away and practically sold out the covered end and the 2 central blocks in the West Stand.

It's also the first game after the international break (which most people hate), so we'll basically have a 2 week build up for it.

haven't seen millwall fan on here today - is he on holiday? i just watched the highlights of their game from yesterday - they looked like relegation material - it was all boro - the only millwall highlight was their £5m signing from boro, coburn, missing a sitter of a header - i've not seen him before but 'he's shit in the air for a tall bloke' was certainly in evidence there

I expect us to give them a competitive game at The Valley and I’ll be no more confident of that given the history
Anyone that gets a spanner a ticket in our end for this game should have a rethink, whilst it’s a 12.30 this should be electric in both ends, may the best team win

Shit day at the office yesterday. Neil got a few things wrong and was man enough to hold his hands up about it. The scoreline flattered them though. A 0-1 or even a 1-1 would’ve been a fairer result.
We always have a bad result every couple of months. (Think Plymouth and Blackburn away last season). It’s good to get it out of the way now so we can iron out any creases in time for our big game in September…. V Watford. 😁
Two games in so very early days. Just as I wasn’t talking about winning the league when we won at Norwich last week I won’t be worrying about relegation after a shit result the following week. As I always say, give a season half a dozen games or so before you start panicking or getting too excited.

Just looked at the stats and Middlesbrough had more possession, more corners, more shots and more shots on target. You had 1 shot on target all game so to claim a 1-1 would've been a fairer result is a bit of a stretch.
Mind the gap after the second game of the season when we're a point above them? How many times does one man have to say a game means a lot to him before people stop saying 'I thought you didn't care?'
