Loved his late night shows in the late 80's early 90's. Pushed the envelope just that little bit further & didnt mind calling people out.

Used to love listening to him in the evenings in the early days of Talk Radio with Ash on controls. Disagreed with him more often than not but a real talented broadcaster. Think he was fighting cancer for 25 years.

A name from my teenage years, with his radio shows and risqué tv show, then used to just used to listen to his annual Talksport Christmas show with Mike Parry and Mike Dicken.

RIP, to one of the founding fathers of talk radio in the UK.

Mike Dicken, Jeremy Beadle, James Whale, Ceasar the Geezer, Ian Collins, George Galloway, Tommy Boyd.

Didn’t always agree with them. But late 90s / early 2000s some fantastic broadcasters and brilliant late night Talk radio.

    Disagreeable - Unpleasant or unenjoyable.

I was just thinking about these the other day - maybe subconsciously, since there have been a lot of reports lately popping up about James Whale not being well

used to really enjoy listening to him back in the nineties along with Caeser the Geezer  . In the latter years his views became extreme and i couldn’t listen to him but having battled ( still am ) cancer I partially know what he was going through .

I’ve met him a few times and went to his liver cancer charity night at the House of Lords nearly 3 years ago. I spoke to him last year about another charity night but this didn’t fall through…shame. Seemed a pleasant guy but I also can’t say I liked his politics.
    RIP James.

A few years ago there was an incident (plane shot down or something), resulting in my son being unable to get home from his holiday in Egypt. Every morning James interviewed my son on Essex Radio. He was desperate to get a certain angle that Brits were suffering and frustrated. Everyday he got the same response, "Everything's fine, we're enjoying a free holiday extension". Nice try, James. RIP

Im sorry for your loss @markofkent

Before the days of podcasts and Bluetooth playlists I spent a lot of time listening to your brother in law driving to and from call outs. May he rest in peace

I listened to and watched him a long time ago. He always angered me, which I’m sure he would have loved.
    That’s all really.
