A mate of mine has just abandoned Mother North in Norway. 1000km and 16,000 metres of elevation! The weather got so bad he nearly froze to death coming back down a mountain to a stop-point.
He still had to do 60 miles and 5,000 feet of climbing after he DNF'd to get to a train station!
