Let’s focus for a second on this form everyone is hitting.
One of the most common arguments here is that we are safe because it would require everyone below us to hit play off form.
Well that’s very possible - as the season draws to a close and (in a close league) teams at the bottom have so much to fight for - they often come up against teams with less to fight for.
How often do you see teams in a relegation fight show form at the end that would have seen them top half had they continued it for a whole season? But that’s why they are down the bottom.
Think of us when we got relegated from the prem both times. Showed fight near the end of the season.
Overall what I’m saying is that we should expect the teams below us to hit form. Because they are fighting for their lives.
