Peterborough bottom after 5 games, with Reading and Wycombe also in the bottom 4 and Blackpool just outside on GD.

Wycombe needed a late equaliser to get a point at home to Reading, a defeat in that game would have put Dodds under real pressure.

Jackson's Wimbledon holding their own. Another win against one of the bigger sides in that league in Barnsley.

An interview with Nigel Clough about the gap between L1 spending and the Premier League. One bit caught my attention

"Birmingham and Wrexham were out on their own last season," he added. "And with Charlton in there, the three biggest wage bills went up [won promotion]. That probably shows you something or how much it means.
"With those two out of the way, it's much more even in the league with spending. But even now, Huddersfield have spent big, and others have spent more than £1m on strikers.
"It's big money for League One, which seems to be the way that football is going at the moment."

Did we have the 3rd biggest wage bill last season? I'd have thought Bolton, Barnsley and Huddersfield would have been up there with us?
  • Thought we were 4th/5th - Huddersfield, Bolton and Wycombe in the places around us
  •  Bradford 3-0 up over Huddersfield at HT.

6 of the bottom 7 are usually known for competing at the top end of league one.

It's a brutal league. Very easy to fall off.

And they have all been in the Championship within the past 7 years

After 11-12 games, that's very unexpected to see a relegation four of Peterborough, Blackpool, Rotherham, and Reading!

You'd expect most of them, if not all, to be in contention for top 6. Terrible start from all of them.
  • The top six is also surprising. That’s no bad thing for us. Assuming we stay up, we want three weaker clubs to come up.

Bet Ferguson can’t wait to get the sack. He can start planning for going back for next season

I also wonder with Posh how long until Mcanthony sells up? I know it would be a bit of a minefield deal for someone to do because of some of his dealings with previous investors but I wonder if relegation would be a tipping point.

I don't see why anyone would buy them. They're a team who have overperformed and been found out. It isn't a talent hotspot, the ground is poor and in a pretty bad location and the city has no money. Add in the deals he's done before and it's a minefield

Yeah there was only so many years that transfer policy was going to work of finding these value signings from Non League and selling them on for Millions. Now the well has dried up for them with losing Poku very cheaply and Kyprianou on a free.

Chris Conn-Clarke their big signing of last summer is now back in the National League on loan at Carlisle.
