Superb touch for that one0
-
That's that then - Emery's fifth Europa League title. Incredible record.0
-
Really pleased for Villa, great club3
-
Went to the England game at Villa Park last year, sat in the Holt End, absolutely brilliant. Pleased for Villa.1
-
Villa playing like the Barcelona team of 15 years ago0
-
With Maatsen now on we can lay claim to the development of two of the Villa squad3
-
Funny watching Maatsen come on in a European final.
I mostly remember him being part of some absolutely horrendous Charlton teams in our darkest hours.0 -
In 24 hours, Mikel Arteta took Arsenal to first league in 22 years, Andoni Iraola took Bournemouth to Europe for first time ever and Unai Emery took Aston Villa to first European trophy in 44 years, first of any kind in 33 years. All born within 30 miles of each other. Gipuzkoa.

it's been said it's London vs Paris... England vs France... TNT vs Kier.... yes the European cup final is here. and my response to all of that.. is there anyway they both could lose?? unfortunately not it seems.
predictions?0 -
i envy the arsenal fans though and millwall who also played out there in Budapest (but unfortunately for the Bermondsey lot the locals weren't that welcoming) of having a jolly out with your team in that beauty of a city1

This evening will be the first time for me to be actually cheering Arsenal on in any match since that incredible May 1989 title decider at Anfield.
This is mostly for the same reason too: to see the plastic glory hunting knobheads crawl back under their stones. At least Liverpool, like Arsenal, were a proper club with tradition. PSG are just the sad neighbours of the historically superior Red Star, and they should really just p*** off now.
But the main reason I can’t stand them is that the French public seem to mistake PSG for the French national team. It’s not France ffs.
C’mon you Reds.2 -
No problem with Arsenal and Villa picking up European trophies this season, but I’m still furious how everyone in Europa Conference made it so easy for that other lot!2
-
Love to see the Woolwich rejects win... But PSG have a forward line that is scary and Arsenal don't score many.
4-1 PSG to win0 -
I’m not annoyed with the opposition. Palace have done things exactly the right way. Stay in the Premier League for 5-10 years then actually go for a trophy. They won the FA Cup and now they have another trophy. If it’s so easy to win, why didn’t we do it? ’Got to concentrate on the league’ attitude, that’s why. It’s about time a 2nd tier side won the FA Cup again. It needs a lot of luck but we need a change of attitude.stoneroses19 said:No problem with Arsenal and Villa picking up European trophies this season, but I’m still furious how everyone in Europa Conference made it so easy for that other lot!
Anyway, it’ll be PSG who win tonight because they and Palace are cut from the same cloth.0 -
Palace have Steve Parish who has rarely put a foot wrong whereas we had Murray who did fantastic but then went from our Dr Jekyll to Mr Hyde and screwed it up. We had the foundations to do what Palace didjimmymelrose said:

The sort of game where you want both teams to lose. I don’t like Arsenal because they’re Arsenal, I don’t like PSG because of where their money comes from. On balance, Arsenal less detestable than PSG.4

Hmmm.orpingtonRED said:I hated man u winning non stop as it got boring but bloody hell this Liverpool could be winning everything for a good few years0 -
We’ll always have Ancona. Well, some of us will.Karim_myBagheri said:i envy the arsenal fans though and millwall who also played out there in Budapest (but unfortunately for the Bermondsey lot the locals weren't that welcoming) of having a jolly out with your team in that beauty of a city2 -
The most nervous I’ve been for a PSG match since I became a super fan this morning. Hoping Arsenal get embarrassed.3
-
When the game is basically all about risk/reward, the more advantage English clubs appear to have, and taking the rewards of all 3 European trophies this season with two of those going to London clubs would be a nice reminder of that, then hopefully the more comfortable and more easier it will be for Charlton’s owners to keep the club moving forward. Personally I think Arsenal are too strong and too aggressive for PSG. Chelsea took them apart in the club World Cup final at the end of last season by playing that way.2
-
I think it must be the other Paris club that was merged to form PSG in the early 70s although I thought the name was a nit different. But I agree with @jimmymelrose, plastic and no history.MrOneLung said:

BTW for anyone abroad with a VPN it seems we can watch free on RTE player. Just a signup needed.3 -
Does make me laugh people saying TNT should make it free to air.How about if Arsenal give up their prize money to TNT who have stumped untold millions to show the games and whose money is making Arsenal rich.0
-
And just realised it is a 5pm kick off.Assumed it was this evening.1
