We all keep citing the strength of the squad now with the players we could bring on, except we never actually do.

He's clearly a class player just he's needed a rest of late. Which makes it even more baffling that he hasn't been rotated with Aptor. Or even subbed at 70 when we've been chasing a goal, that makes a massive difference to recovery.

It is baffling but then probably the one real weakness I'd say Jones has tactically/managerially is that he is often a hit slow/reluctant to make changes, both in games and on a more macro level with squad management.

Not terribly so and when he does make the change he generally gets it right, but sticking with Bree despite injury is a prime example.

Is it just me, or are his flaws becoming more apparent. He misreads the game quite badly at times. Just today, he let Sorba Thomas run off him, and with a better pass that would've been a goal.

For all the chat, and seemingly clear desire from NJones to sign him - i cant see it being anymore than a desperate signing of a known commodity.

His set pieces have extremely poor barring the first few games, doesn't work well alongside Ramsey (who himself is under performing)- id rather we look at someone more exciting and with fire in their belly, rather than what would be an underwhelming continuation of keeping Bree

Last night i thought he was awful, out of position, looked unfit and generally like we were playing with 10 men.

Not about to throw a player under the bus for 2 poor games especially when one of those he was injured and the other was against one of the best wingers in the league.

6 goal contributions in what 12 games 10 games if we look at per 90, same amount of contributions as TC, Kelman, Oloafe, Leaburn combined.

So what if he’s not the most exciting wingback like small what he is, is effective. Without him we also conceded 5 goals at Southampton with a lot of chances coming down that side.

I’m actually in awe how people let less than 1/6 of Bree’s season completely change their opinion of him as a player talk about reactionary

Mental that people are writing him off when he’s clearly been struggling with an injury. He was absolutely class before that and has been good at this level for years, but let’s ignore all that and focus on 2 games where he was clearly injured and then returning from (or possibly still suffering with) injury

That's just incorrect info from a website posting incorrect (guessed) wage info

If Roussillion can start soon, I’d soon like to see a back four with Ramsay at RB with Apter and Campbell as the right and left wing players.

From those who watched him warming up yesterday it sounds like Roussillon will do well to ever play a minute for us

Would suit 433, Apter RAM/ Campbell LAM, Leaburn down the middle. Worth a shout, i think we get overrun in the middle a lot so a midfield 3 , Coventry. Doc + Anderson (maybe, someone with legs)

If he returns to Southampton I wouldn’t be that bothered.

There has been a considerable drop off in performance level from Bree, obviously others aswell but very much more noticeable with him, maybe Coventry also.

Wouldn't surprise me if Bree's recent lack of form is to do with his loan ending next month. Maybe his agent has already sorted a new club. Maybe he thinks a resurgent Saints team is better than a failing Addicks one. I dont expect to see him here after January.

I don't think it's from a lack of not wanting to perform or trying. I honestly believe it was his best games was when he had Burke next to him and pushing up with him. Allowing him more freedom to attack and more solid defensively. They worked well together!

He needs to loose a few Kilos by the look of him warming up last night.

He’s not getting in that Southampton team now though.

He doesn't have much in his toolbox other than his set piece delivery. And his lack of pace is not helping us to stretch teams.

Warms up in front of where I sit and unless he was wearing a lot of layers then he's not as toned and doesn't move as he once could............ but that's why he was available I guess..... however he is a left-sided defender/wing back and comes with a hatful of nous and experience..... and goodness knows our left side needs more than a bit of shoring up..... I'm hoping that he will be ready to play a part in our post-Brum games.......

He’s proven at this level, I think it’s more the balance and quality of our team that’s the issue.

Players like Bree will look better if we had 2 or 3 attacking players in the team with pace and/or skill, and players with the pace and fitness to press effectively.

We lost that when Apter and Kelman came out the team, and our defensive strengths without Bell and Edwards.

This is so similar to where we were a year ago. NJ needs to find a new way. Players like Bree and Berry can play their part, but too many in the team together makes us too easy to press and defend against.

Think some went a bit overboard in the first 5 games. Dead balls/crosses were good and got a couple of goals but his all round game didn't look particularly special. Been well below average since.

Hasn't N J said he wants to sign him permanently? That says a lot.

Scored a great volley goal at Derby...🤔

It's clearly a clever ploy to lose form just after Soton sacked Will Still, to put Tonda Eckert off and make sure Soton don't want him back.

Once we sign him for a nominal fee in January, he'll start playing like prime Cafu.
  • I still like him. Solid Championship player.  He may not be outstanding like we all hoped in his early games but he is easily good enough for a mid range Championship team we currently aspire to be.
