Safe Standing

Is safe standing being installed in the South Stand , we deliver for the installation contractor, and have delivered to several football grounds recently. We have deliveries going into The Valley this week. I just can’t imagine they’d be in home areas as there was nothing mentioned in any ST sales literature which would obviously be a change to purchased seats.

It's the JIMMY SEED STAND1

The club have mentioned hand rails in the Curbs stand2

Which I believe were meant to be in place for the Millwall game so this would fitHenry Irving said:The club have mentioned hand rails in the Curbs stand0 -

What is it you are delivering @Peakey4Rocket? I thought safe standing meant no seats and some new railing, so not much to actually deliver other than some railings?0

If it impacts my view i'll be looking for a booster seat, will let you know how I get on.AFKABartram said:

The seat is still there with the most basic form of safe standing, it's just a rail put in place to stop people falling forward.swords_alive said:What is it you are delivering @Peakey4Rocket? By the sound of things, it's rails for the Curbs stand stairs anyway. I imagine they'll be low height, rather than the full height railings at the stop of each staircase.2 -
We did Brammal Lane last week, it’s the Galvanised rails and bars. I think there they’re doing the home end behind the goal.swords_alive said:What is it you are delivering @Peakey4Rocket? It could be hand rails, I just thought it may be safe standing in away end.1 -
No chance we're putting safe standing in the JS right now1
-
When the Millwall fans rip the seats out after losing 5-0, we can then replace them with safe standing.sam3110 said:No chance we're putting safe standing in the JS right now6 -
We need safe standing installed in the first row of the lower north. Get them standing and everyone else behind has and excuse to stand as well.1

You pay for a seat, not a standing spot ffsletthegoodtimesroll said:We need safe standing installed in the first row of the lower north. Get them standing and everyone else behind has and excuse to stand as well.1 -
absolutely pointless putting safe standing rails in the JS0

If I was in the lower north I would stand as there's hardly any room to sit.
I get why they would put in hand rails as the east still has steps like the old terrace. Every person who supports another team and comes to the valley and sits in the east that I've met have all mentioned the size of the steps. Personally though I hope they don't as it will impact on people's view.0 -

They have already announced the new handrails in the east stand going in the same time as the new big screen. Will be complete by the Millwall game1

It's called a stand for a reason 😉OhMyGodden said:

I think some players could try safe standing a bit more during the game too. Some go down far too easily! 😆1

I'm impressed the usual suspects have resisted the temptation to make the obvious joke here.AFKABartram said:

The seats have been in use in the JS for, cumulatively, about 37 years. I'm not aware of any fatalities in that time, nor any serious injury, nor any event that might suggest safety is an issue.
I think the point about it being pointless installing them is in the context of the return on investment. They make sense in the home end as those safe standing seats are in demand and therefore a selling point. The same is not true in the JS.1
