Expect a lot have seen this over social media by now but for those that haven't and want some nostalgia, it's an app for android in the style of Ceefax/Teletext.

    While we’re at it, why not just get rid of not only the app and bring back teletext, but get rid of the internet completely?

    Sure, there are things I would miss, like Charlton Life, music streaming, WhatsApp but we’d all learn to adapt, and I believe everyone would be happier and they’d be greater social cohesion in the long term.

    Just look at society these days compared to pre-internet. Arguments that one hasn’t resulted from the other better be well constructed.

    Teletext and Ceefax were great at the time but would I want to use it now . God no.

    We used to book holidays off Teletext, which seems completely insane now.

    Teletext was my guru for sports all the while I refused to pay for Sky.
    It took my local landlord selling up and moving to Spain for me to finally cave in.

    I learnt of princess Diana's death by teletext. Back in the day my morning routine would be to get up, have breakfast, and turn on the tv. Then go straight to teletext to see the headlines.

    My awareness of Diana’s death was a bit embarrassing. I went in the garage to buy a Sunday paper. The garage owner said the papers were on the floor as they were late after reprinting the front pages. “What? Has she changed her hairstyle?” I quipped unfunnily. A lady jumped in and told me she was dead. Eek.
