Remember watching us against them in the 70's, they had a winger by the name of Noel Brotherstone from memory, small tricky winger and
just around the time I was able to start watching  appreciate who the oppositions main threats were.

Was he the one that looked like Professor Pat Pending from Wacky Races?

Anyone know the home and away break down of the four home league games this season?

On the test we passed the bell weather.

Was a very respectable turn out from a depressed Blackburn FC. Felt sorry for their fans having to traipse all that way back after a spineless showing like that.

As a bell wever I thought we overcome too easily and now look for the next one, Derby on Tuesday?

Seems a lot of the home season  tickets holders didn't bother today for one reason or another. Bell wever means not exciting enough I expect.

Here's a view of the family area during the first half, which was supposedly close to a sell out pre kick off (I checked and only 4 seats remainder in one of the blocks). Same near me in the west where I was able to choose a seat with ease.

    Watford - 3,138 away, 18,640 home

    Leicester - 3,139 away, 19,044 home

    Millwall - 3,140 away, 20,153 home

    Blackburn - 1,567 away, 17,437 home

I think that’s right but I have had a beer

Obviously Millwall is a derby, but a ~15% decline on the home attendance this weekend is disappointing.

    No, it really isn't.

We had 17.5k home fans for unattractive opposition.

That is the improvement we've made.
  • In many ways it was the most impressive turnout of the season for me.

Think back 10 months or so ago to the likes of Crawley at home. It is an unprecedented upturn

Blackburn potentially one of the least inspiring home fixtures I reckon - great turn out

Our average attendance last season (including away fans) was 15,255. To be getting 17,437 for a bang average opposition is fantastic

I think the Ryder Cup would have had an impact too.

Didn’t help kick off being at 3pm instead of the traditional 12:30 that we are used to.

That was a really good turnout yesterday. Some people are getting too carried away, not helped by this club policy of 20k attendances being shouted about

  • Next home game, Sheffield Wednesday, is another £30-£40 game. If their fans have any sense they’d boycott it.
  • I think the Ryder Cup would have had an impact too.
Godden was supposed to be speaking in the lounge and was replaced by Jim Rodwell .
I didn’t hear the reason why , I expect Godden thought an afternoon of golf watching would be better than The Valley

Do the away team get a percentage of our gate then? Thought that was only cup games

Away clubs get 2.5% commission on any ticket sold in advance.

Thanks. They will still sell the away end out in my opinion

don’t remind me. Went to a family gathering last night where it was on from 5-12. One of the most dull nights i’ve had.

Only allowed to scream “in the hole”
