    1. Macclesfield 2-1 Crystal Palace (2026)

Non-league Macclesfield produced the greatest shock in FA Cup history with a stunning Third Round performance to knock out holders Crystal Palace.

The hosts are ranked 117 places below Premier League side Palace, meaning this was the biggest upset in the competition of all time in terms of league places.

For all you coves revelling in Palarse's ignominy
    I have 2 words

    Northwich Victoria

Also question:  would you rather get dumped out the cup by a tier 5 or 6 side
    OR
    get humped 7 or 8 by Chelsea's reserve U23's?

What a day......ripe for Charlton to mess it up by getting pasted 10-0

The dreaded double-figure defeat is a possibility for Exeter. They are currently 7-0 down with another 20 minutes still to play.

There's no comparison, a decent conference team beating a decent league one side vs a team 117 places below their opponents who are also the cup holders.

League One side v 6th tier opposition, 76 places

Premier League side and current holders v 6th tier opposition, 117 places and the largest discrepancy in FA Cup history

Really bizarre attitude to not be able to enjoy your local rivals in a historic loss. Whatever happens tonight, we should all be able to laugh at Palace today

The most amazing thing is that Haaland played in the first half (4-0 at HT), and failed to score!

Northwich was a shocker but there is no comparison to our defeat and that of the filth.  F*** 'em.
They were Conference North at the time, 'only' three divisions away.

Someone check this bloke’s PC to see if they’re secretly a Palace fan. Because this post reeks.

Nobody apart from us and Northwich remembers that awful game. But Palace's ignominious defeat today is truly one for the history books, to be dredged up every year for all time.
So whatever the outcome tonight, it won't be remembered like palace's humiliating defeat today.

I couldn't give a toss about what any other fans remember, it's what we remember of the games we see.
That Northwich game haunts me every year the cup comes around.
The looks on my kids faces (they were 5 and 7 at the time) as they asked 'why do you watch Charlton, they can't even beat them and they're rubbish?'

This is a great stat:  The 7th shot on target for Man city made it 8-0.

Make that 9-0 with the 9th different scorer !

Be grateful if you did not go, I did, it was painful.  We could have lost by more but Randolph had a great game.
Plus a Sunday in Crewe waiting for the train home was not ideal!

Nine different scorers and we aren't going to see Haaland score today.

The 10th goal and another different scorer.
Lovely goal by George Birch who have just come back to Exeter from a Loan spell at Weston-super-mare.

Finally 10-1 and Reco Lewis get his 2nd goal.

Man City offered their fans an apology today after their dismal showing in the Cup Final against a much smaller club
