CharltonLife Statbank 2025 / 26 POTM awards
Knowing that the club are now doing a monthly POTM award and using the brilliant work of
and his statbank, I wanted to find out who would be crowned CharltonLife’s player of the month for September.
In order to qualify, you have to have had a mark awarded for over 50% of games (just 50% doesn’t count, sorry Macca). I just made this rule up.
Anyway, on to the award for September…
In third place:
Sonny Carey with an average score of 7.50
In second place:
Lloyd Jones with an average score of 7.53
And our winner:
Greg Docherty with an average score of 7.62 👏
Honorable mentions to Amari’i Bell (7.49) and James Bree (7.47). Others who missed the cut due to lack of marks were Tanto (8.05 from one match against Blackburn) and Gillesphey (7.58 from two matches against Blackburn and Derby).

7.47 only gets you fifth place. They've probably been some months in our recent past where 5.47 would have been good enough!7

I think that will surprise a few people, but in the (only home) games that I’ve seen, all three have been excellent.0

Alright, I just realised I could get the QPR statbank results from the following statbank posts so updated results for August POTM coming shortly....0 -

3. Amari'i Bell 7.52
2. Lloyd Jones 8.06
1. Kayne Ramsay 8.10
Honorable mention for August would go to Rob Apter with a score of 7.51

But yeah like the idea. Good on Doc. This rewards consistency I think whereas the club vote rewards standout moments.

ACTUAL REAL AUGUST RESULTS (you're welcome @cantersaddick )
3. Rob Apter 7.16
2. Kayne Ramsay 7.40 (he unfortunately had a mare against QPR, moreso than most)
1. Lloyd Jones 7.586 -

This season and last, it's fantastic to have at least 4 or 5 players competing for any awards.
Just shows how far we have come, when previously after a few months in to the season it was obvious that Dobbo or May were nailed on to get POTY.3 -

Bree 6.86- Assist at Wednesday, pretty much assisted at Hull, CS against Ipswich up against one of the best wingers in the league.Kelman 6.86- Pressed like our other 10 players, and had a blocked shot at Wednesday.Seriously what on earth am I missing.2 -
I would never have guessed Bell would be top. That shows how consistent he's been, without every standing out.
The "official" top 4 (as chosen by the club, and then voted on were)
1 Carey
2 Jones
3 Bree
4 Docherty
So an interesting difference with Bree.0 -

So an interesting difference with Bree.Bell benefitted this month by not receiving a mark in the defeat at Preston. His average was not negatively impacted by that result as compared to Jones and Carey. Ramsay did not get a mark against Sheff Wed.
If you exclude Preston marks for Jones and Carey, they both jump above Bell. Bell is on 7.51 while Jones is on 7.80 and Carey on 7.876666.5 -
The thing CL will always refuse to learn is that sometimes individual players can play really well in defeat0

Sorry, I mean GIVE ALL OF THEM 4 EXCEPT LLOYDY 6 BOOOO0
