Amended the title, will add as a sticky in the coming days, as it’s a bit congested right now.2
-
Yep, that was my thinking too. Will probably be doing my usual "sponsorship" thing, so will add that too.1

As with last year, to make things a bit more interesting, I'm in for £1 for:
- every point the 1st team get
- every goal they score
- plus an extra £1 if any of the academy graduates score
- every clean sheet we keep
from when the fundraiser was announced, up to and including the PSA testing day on 11th April. And while there are quite a few games in this period, it's obviously a tougher job than last season, so I'll double the total if we beat Oxford or NorwichWest Brom (A) - 1pt, 1 goal, no academy bonus, no clean sheet = £2
Wrexham (H)
Birmingham (H)
Middlesbrough (A)
Oxford (A)
Norwich (H)
Bristol City (H)
Watford (A)
Preston (H)
Running total: £2Please support the fundraiser to cover the subsidy for the PSA tests here: https://www.goodhub.com/go/psa-testing-day . The target is £8000, and at the moment we've raised £2327.50 including gift aid.4 -
Just had my test locally, along with the complete MOT on bloods. We await the results, made a lot more aware after @Redmidland passing I’ve also got a $#/t on stick test to do.3

As a person who has had Prostate Cancer, may I offer some points.
There are not alway symptoms. In my case, my peeing frequency increased, particularly at night, this initiated my trip to my GP. However these symptoms can also indicate prostate enlargement, rather the prostate cancer. My PSA "count" was 14, above a level of about 8, which initiates medical attention. I was never told (I should have asked) the size of the PSA scale, and didnt know how serious a reading of 14 was. I learnt at radiotheraphy later from other patients, that many had a reading in the 30s and 40s. A key measure therafter is the "Gleason" score, which is the number of cancerous pieces of prostate, following a biopsy procedure. Thereafter a key activity is a body scan to identify if the cancer has spread outwith of the prostate to other vital organs, via the bones. My Prostate cancer was 10 years or so ago and initially I had a PSA test on a regular basis thereafter.. I only now have it re-tested every few years.
I hope this helps other Charlton Lifers about to take a PSA test. Best wishes to all who have signed up to the test!11 -

Now that it's been confirmed that we're not going to be on telly on 11th April, those of you who've been holding off booking your PSA test slot in case we'd end up having to reschedule are now able to do so. There's just under a hundred slots left though, so you'd better get a move on.Our late point at Oxford ticks up my personal tally by another couple of quid, but no doubling for a win there sadly.
West Brom (A) - 1pt, 1 goal, no academy bonus, no clean sheet = £2
Wrexham (H) - no points, no goals, no academy bonus, no clean sheet = £0
Birmingham (H) - 3 points, 1 goal, no academy bonus, 1 clean sheet = £5
Middlesbrough (A) - 3 points, 1 goal, no academy bonus, 1 clean sheet = £5
Oxford (A) - 1pt, 1 goal, no academy bonus, no clean sheet = £2
Norwich (H)
Bristol City (H)
Watford (A)
Preston (H)
Running total: £14The official fundraising total has stalled though, so if you can spare a few quid to help subsidise the cost of the testing, please do so here:

I have booked online but it is a nightmare to do so. They want passwords, at least two verification numbers sent to my mobile telephone, I am worried that I might now be signed up to PayPal established by that evil racist Musk, I am worried about getting unwanted texts and whatever else.
Basically having done it I am worried about data harvesting and my credit card being scammed somehow.
Essentially the process of booking has unsettled me and I don’t trust any of it.
Which I why I renew our season tickets in person at the Valley because I don’t trust the club systems either.
I dislike all this technology crap, it is creator friendly not user friendly.
Indeed finding out how to watch the U21’s yesterday was by random chance, and as for the way they communicate via Twitter that is alienating too. I don’t mind enriching Charlton, but not Musk.3 -
Have been going every season since it started. None of the problems you fear for PSA testing.jose said:I have booked online but it is a nightmare to do so. Since signing up at 11.15 this morning, being funnelled through paypal, by 2pm I have had seven emails from paypal.
I am on their system without wanting to be.
All I wanted to do was pay by credit card.0 -

Well here is my annual rant,to all those indestructible men out there from the wont happen to me brigade,oh yes it will.I was one of you,no bladder problems,no signs at all,one day on my way to a game at the valley,a bit early, psa checks were taking place,on my wifes insistence I had it done, thought no more of it until the dreaded red letter appeared.I was lucky very early stages,no surgery, just biopsis, hormone therapy, scans, and radiation treatment. Now 5 years later, all clear with now annual check ups.Had the original test not been done, who knows. So thanks to Charlton Athletic FC and of course Tracey ,I am well and still enjoying trips to the Valley playing golf, when I could have been dead.Think about it guys.18

I booked a while ago but can’t find any confirmation. Will that matter?0

If you have Gmail and search "psa" or "BKPCA" it may show up in your emails. Email says to bring the printed booking formiainment said:I booked a while ago but can’t find any confirmation. Will that matter?
If not drop them a note info@thebkpca.com
Or failing that DM Elon Musk on twitter as he'll no doubt have your details if he's not already sold them to the kkk.1 -
I presume there will be blank forms to fill out on the day for those of us without printers.0
