Seems ridiculous to say bearing in mind the step up in quality being promoted to the Championship entails….. but he honestly looks even better at Champ level than he did last season.
Makes me wonder how high is ceiling actually is….. I think he should be well in the running for Championship team of the season. The stats back it up. Ridiculously good defender in this league5 -
Next season is his final year under contract. A priority needs to be get him on a long term deal to see out his career with us.Oh, and I wouldn’t risk him against Borough.2
-
The lynchpin of our team.He embodies everything we love about our best players.A legend still in the making. I do hope we extend his contract.6

New 3 year contract in the summer + club captain.10

With a year option1

Been so incredibly long since I’ve thought “that’s okay, lloydy will get us out of trouble here” when I see them breaking and there’s a one on one on jones. Possibly back to solly’s heyday who’s the last defender I thought that about1
-
In say the last 15 years, where do people think Jones ranks in terms of best players, I think for me he’s in the top 5.0

Incredible that we have the defender with most clearances and aerial duels won in the entire championship. Outstanding!CAFCsayer said:This'll be more 1 sided than the Alfie may season... Deservedly so aswell, he has been immense. Not only is he top of our team in a lot of metrics, he is top of the entire league in a few. Be surprised if a few of the bigger teams in the league didn't bid for him this summer

It is outstanding but it also says a lot about how we play. Ipswich, for example, would be disappointed if their CB's were making that many clearances. That isn't a criticism but worth keeping in mind0

You're good at this agent stuff. Keep spreading that message to all clubs please!fenaddick said:It is outstanding but it also says a lot about how we play. Ipswich, for example, would be disappointed if their CB's were making that many clearances. That isn't a criticism but worth keeping in mind6 -
Deserves a Wales call up! Surprised it hasn't happened this season and would love to see him at the World Cup if they qualify. How can you deny those stats!4

I've been told Bellamy doesn't looking favorable on his incident when he was a young naive lad at Liverpool. Which is quite ironic given Bellamy's history.cafc-4-life said:Deserves a Wales call up! It benefits us he is has a full summer to rest but he really should be in the Wales squad. I hope he gets the call up. This is probably his only chance to play at a WC too0 -
I would say Jones is maybe the best “defender” in the championship, as in he’s the best at actually defending. But he’s probably not the best centre back in the league, which is why I think there’s a good chance we can keep himfenaddick said:It is outstanding but it also says a lot about how we play. But seriously, as much as it’d be great for him to get international recognition, it’s probably important that he gets a chance to rest this summer.4 -
If it’s the last 15 years, then he’s number 1 by some distance. He’s a talisman and is as important to our defence as Yann was to our attack.AberystwythAddick said:In say the last 15 years, where do people think Jones ranks in terms of best players, I think for me he’s in the top 5.1 -
He’s 30 years old. Holding a decision he made as a teenager against him is mad. Any other young player in his position would have done the same thing. Not saying he should be starting but it’s kind of crazy he’s not in the squad when they have that young lad for cardiff starting games.stjohnshill said:

Yeah that’s about the right of it I think. Cases can be made for Yann and Jacko as well I think. For me Jacko then JonesElliotCAFC said:

The real reason Trump is so pissed off with Starmer is Starmer wouldn't force NJ to send Lloydy out to Tel Aviv to head away Iranian missiles. It was his backup plan for when they run out of patriot missiles.4

Can't remember the exact number, but on the CharltonLive podcast, Louis Mendez was saying he has something like 65, or about 25%, more clearances than the next best in the division.stoneroses19 said:

He may get overlooked because our league position, but he really deserves to be named in the Championship team of the season and in the running for Championship player of the year. He's been absolutely immense, no striker has really bested him, and I can't recall him having a bad game all season.3 -
What incident did Lloyd make as a teenager?0

Oh I assumed @stjohnshill was referring to his switch from Wales back to England because they called him up to their u20 squad. Regardless I still think it’s a bit silly to hold this over his head.fenaddick said:
