Good to hear that we’re after a midfielder that can control the midfield. Whether we can get one will be the question!

Watch it end up him going back to Luton for Jordan Clark.

We need a decent winger as I expect we will go 442 next week Apter on one side … look at Azeez today a winger that took players on and delivered a dangerous cross everytime .. and we had Campbell could not deliver a letter …. Good to hear Jones say he been to loyal to some .. hopefully we will see that next week
  • As I said the other day our midfield isn’t up to it and that’s all of them we badly need some in that’s going to boss it and be hard .

I don’t actually think he’s saying anything wrong here though. If this was anyone else you would have ignored it

Wonder if with Knibbs out for the rest of the season and not wanting to rely too much on Fullah if another attacking midfielder might be on the cards along with more of an "8" type.

I know NJ loves Berry but he's at the stage where it's 15-20 mins off the bench.

You have to hope that this result is ultimately a positive thing for our plans in the transfer market. Edwards' setback is problematic as we need another LWB as well as a LCB, a central midfielder and ideally a pacy alternative to TC. I'm concerned that it seems pace hasn't really ever been on our radar this January but we really need a mobile central midfielder to make a difference and maybe getting rolled over so easily today will spark the ownership into feeling that money spent now is less than the cost of relegation. We definitely need something to provide a bit of change about the squad, someone who can put a bit of excitement int there and gee up the other players

Totally agree with the sentiment here but we should have realised months ago that a playmaker was needed. I did and said it. Finding one in the last week of the window is not going to be easy.

It's surely more likely to be in the engine room.

In his interview with Carley/Mendez, NJ didn't think any of his central midfielders were playing well at the moment, and demanding to be picked.

If he thinks none of them are demanding to be picked that's pretty damming and sums up a lot of the problems. Need to get someone that's physically up to this level in there.

We haven't had a play maker for about 6;seasons!!

Our midfield has been ordinary all season.

Last summer, and it's not just with hindsight, but I didn't think we needed to spend so much money on strikers or Knibbs, and would have preferred to have spent some money on a quality midfielder. Someone who can run games, but is also defensively solid, as even in L1 our midfield was nothing special.
  • Wonder if we will go for Ingleson (?) at Sheff Wed

So who are realistic CM targets? Any stand out players in Scotland or L1? Or out of favour Championship players?

Surely there’s a LCB another LB and CM we can take on loan for the rest of the season from a prem side we just need sure term fixes to keep us up

Our midfield is too soft. Would rather sign some physicality in there than a playmaker. Don’t think Costello won a 50:50 all game today, that’s why he’s not been playing

We need to improve on the ball too, we need more than a better version of Anderson.

But we won't play with two wingers, maybe one and a midfielder that can wide on the other flank.  Like Powell or Curbs in the Premier League.

But the original post is just his way to have a dig at TC, even though today he was our only attacking outlet.

One of those players can be Coventry in the short to medium term - we need someone who can compliment him, good with their positioning and can pick a pass up the field to relieve some pressure.

Yes wouldn’t be a bad shout.

Both us and Portsmouth are looking for a similar kind of player.
  • Wouldn’t mind ingleson or field or both.

Definitely need something to complement/ compete with Coventry

The next 10 days are very crucial, and I would say this has never been more true…🙏
  • Is Field actually being linked anywhere? - I only ask as seeing his name cropping up a few times now

I wouldn’t hate it…………. Don’t laugh… The kind of player we need. Probably their best player last season and this.
