The John Hewie post by the museum is interesting. They’re saying that ‘at the time of posting’ he’s the only Scotland international to be capped while playing for the club. I wonder if this is hinting at Dykes?
Surprise, Greg Docherty will be called up to the squad for the March international break

Clearly Jones is feeding off scraps in the transfer market. I can’t believe we are heading towards two vital games where the opposition will be fancying their chances and we still don’t have a leftwing back. Nathan said we need orthodox signings. We’ve signed a righback on loan who hasn’t played competitive football all season who’s injury prone. This window will make or break our season.
It’s better to get the right player in by the 31st than get the wrong player in by this weekend. Yes we might be weaker for a few games, but we will be better off for the other 18 games

You are right this window is very important, but that’s why it’s vital we make sure we get the right players in rather than panic and sign whatever we can get in before Saturday
Think it’s not waiting for the right player more we’re not able to attract the right player. Surely the owners know how crucial this window is for us.
There’s been barely any movement in the championship this window so far. So to me I think it definitely looks like we are waiting for the right player and that just isn’t available yet

The owners have backed Jones massively for the last 18 months. Not sure why so many are convinced this has changed now?
You’re right up until now the owners have changed our club for the better practically in every way. It’s been a revelation & I'm grateful to have our club back. On the playing side we are totally unbalanced due to injuries & if Bell is out that’s another huge problem. These clubs are stronger than us so we need a left back who’s playing left back etc.

Nardin played for our sister club in Slovenia, Maribor.

Would be an excellent addition to our squad.
  • Big foreign centre forward? I’m sold.

    Get him in.
    This has Simon Makienok vibes...

Two legs and a head, put a red shirt on him and get him in!

(Competition from Blackpool, Port Vale, Bradford and Bolton if the comments are anything to go by. Surely the lights of London are enough to tempt him our way)
He, Lucas Mauragis, shares the same agent as Matt Godden.

Parent club, CC Mariners, just gone into liquidation.

Completely sold on him. Look how he gets forward (number 5 in these clips i think. A left wing back, with a great cross on him too.

But if an early goal goes in, they're left high and dry

Polish Pete has never played in Slovenia?
  • Millwall are proof of concept when it comes to Easter European strikers. If he is as successful as theirs we will be doing well for ourselves
We can't wait till Easter, we need a Christmas European striker....or Lent perhaps?
If we get someone on loan- does that count as Lent?

Sorry to be pedantic but he didn't say we need "orthodox signings" he said he wanted to make signings so players could play in orthodox positions. Clarke is a good example of that. I agree we need a LWB but it needs to be the right one otherwise it's pointless, just like the Roussillon signing
Does it really matter what religion they are?

Can someone please explain the Roussillon situation? From memory he's played half a u21 game against Preston U21 on 2nd December and then 70 minutes against Ipswich U21 on 22nd December.

He's 33 and last played for Guadeloupe in June!

He was on the bench for 4 games and didn't play a single minute!

Not featured in the match squad since Oxford!

I presume we are paying him right?

Now I understand he might not have been fit, but WHAT is the point of all of this when we have been crying out for a left-wingback throughout December!

Now we are nearly half-way through the transfer window and unless something changes in the next couple of days we are going to have to deal with Apter or TC at left-wing back on Saturday.

Absolutely no chance he comes to us unfortunately, his market value is about £4.5 and he's got about 7 goals in 15 games with a 1 in 2 ration...we'll get Dykes with a ratio of 1 in 22!

No idea why we're not in for Conor Gallagher.

Wants a return to London, knows the Valley and, most importantly, surely he'd choose us over Spurs.

He was cheap emergency cover given our injuries.  I really don’t think NJ had any intention of playing him as long as he could play TC at wingback but if TC were to get injured?

Dykes has been on a goalscoring ration most of his career!!
