Your last away win

my comments on the post match views for Wrexham about my only two away games being QPR and Wrexham this season; got me thinking, when was my last away win.

Admittedly, this is only across an 8 game period, but my last time that I saw us win away was Blackburn at the start of the 19/20 season 😂

since then, due to family commitments and the fact I’ve either been cheery picking the odd game or new ground, the games I’ve seen were

WBA, Millwall, QPR and Derby in that same season,

Morecombe and Accrington in the 21/22 season

Port Vale in the 22/23 season, then QPR and now Wrexham 🤦‍♂️

I’ve got eyes on Watford on Easter Monday, but any other takers on longer than 6 years since their last away win

Funny enough, was discussing this with Mrs AFKA in a Wrexham pub tonight.

She has an away record even worse than mine. Just looked it up, her last away win was 18years ago, Nov 07 Southampton away and a Chris Iwelumo late winner

Fair play.  I think she’s got a good chance of winning this one

Could you please arrange not to attend away games in future unless you take someone who has a fantastic away win attendance history and even then, ideally more than one person per jonah.

That was a blinder. Played mostly with 10 men. But yeh - not blinding enough to make it worth 2 decades of misery, she’s due a nice day out

Anyone who sees us win away should gain another +10 loyalty points and those who see us lose should lose -10 loyalty points. Soon weed out the jonahs making it more difficult for them to get to away games  :D

mate of mine can beat this and by some distance. We went to Orient away last season for the 2-1 win and the last time he'd seen us win before then was at Pompey in 2003 when we won 2-1 there. Granted there was only 12 games in between those runs but right up to being 0-1 down at Orient in the 91st minute I genuinely looked up to the heavens and wondered if that curse would ever end.

Funnily enough his next away game he went to saw us win at Crawley so saw back to back wins  :D

Actually went a run of 12 aways without a win myself from Blackburn in 2019 until Stevenage in the Carabao Cup win on penalties 2023.

Jeez. Probably Watford under SCP, 4-3, that was great, some cracking goals right in front of the away end.

Or perhaps it was  away at MKD 1-0, Lookman, but the whole thing was so shit with Duchatelet that it didnt feel like anything to celebrate.

    Wembley obviously

But if talking about a League match I think it was the last time we were in the Championship. Reading away on 31st Aug 2019.  2-1 win.

Although broke at Orient last season, first away win before that was Gillingham in 2019 , Ive seen all 4 away defeats this season and somehow managed to miss all 4 home wins.

Ipswich away, 3-0, before that Derby, 1-1, and that rotten QPR game away.

I've seen 5 away wins this calendar year  :) Ipswich this season, then 4 in March/April.

Weirdly my longest run without a win was back in the 90s, 14 games between winning at West Ham in 1992 and winning at QPR in 1996.

Southend away last season, and that was my first away win in five years. Wimbledon in 2019 was the last before that.

Last away win was walsall last season, and Cheltenham season before last, before that I had gone 24 aways without a win, I only do about 2 or 3 a season so the run stretched back to Colchester 2011.

Done Bristol City, Sheff Utd and Hull this year so haven't seen us lose. Planning to go to Coventry as well. Guess that will change that day.

Haven't seen us loose Home/Away this season (had to miss some games due to work). So 🤞🏻 for Stoke and Coventry

Lucky with MK Dons. I’ve somehow seen us play them 8 times, losing 6 and drawing 2 with an aggregate score of 15-3.

Thankfully my last away win only takes me back to Sheff U this season

I dont go to many, over the years I feel my record is pretty bad, with about 7 wins from 50 to 60 games but maybe better than 10% isn't too bad?!?!
Portsmouth away when Nicky Ajose scored was the last one but I think I've only been to two since then!

    Mansfield in April for me.

Excluding Wembley my record this year is 1 win (Mansfield), 1 draw (Derby) and 3 defeats (Birmingham, Peterborough and Cambridge).
2 more before the year ends, so hopefully get a few more points on the board.

Also Mansfield for me. That was a great night - we weren't at the races in the 2nd half, yet TC still managed to conjur up a bit of magic.
  • Probably Wycombe 0-4 last Easter. Orient away a few weeks prior to that.

Burton in November 2021, then I'd only been to Crewe in Jan 2022, Accrington in March 2022, Wycombe in August 2022 and Portsmouth in November 2023 and that was it until last Saturday.

Had a pretty good away record last season (mixed with some calamities like Posh and Rotherham), last one was the 4-0 at Wycombe .. still to make any game anywhere this season  :s

I very rarely go to away games and I can't think of a win since beating Ipswich 5-1 with a leaburn hat trick. Seen a few draws and losses since then
