    Mrs and I are heading for the Cotsworld for a few days at the end of June to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Does anyone have any suggestions for places to go and see?. I've only been there on business a few times so a new area for us to explore.

    Any suggestions would be welcome :). Cheers

    boughton on the water
    lower slaughter

    clarksons farm shop and his pub are quite good

    Not technically in the Cotswolds, but right on its edge, is Swindon. Well worth a day enjoying the splendid town centre.

    Thanks mate. Appreciated. We have booked a table for the restaurant for our anniversary and plan to visit the shop. I will definetly take a look at the other locations you suggested. Cheers

    Not technically in the Cotswolds, but right on its edge, is Swindon. Well worth a day enjoying the splendid town centre.

    In the Lake District this week, staying close to Derwent Water. Forecast was for a week of rain up until about ten days ago but so far we've had sun every day. It's really gorgeous if you like getting out and about with your dog.

    In addition to what others have said..
    Chedworth Roman Villa is a must see if you are into your history.
    Also Bilbury, Broadway, Stow on the Wold, and Castle Combe villages are worth a visit.
    And the model village at Bourton on the Water is great!

    There were some right crackers back in the day for getting to/fro SE Asia.
    Went with Balkan Airlines once.
    Plane never made it to Sofia airport but a military base some way away.
    Landed and went into some sort of lounge with bar.
    Mass brawl taking place between pissed up natives.
    As you say, cheap though.

    Another one was early days Malaysian Airlines where the meal was a pot noodle.

    The ones where you constantly focus on the propellers and prey they don’t stop, always added to the excitement.

    I will never forget my fist flight which was from Manston to Perpignan,over 60 years ago.It was a prop plane,we were in the departure lounge (basically a shed) called for the flight(only one there got on plane,then told to get off.got off to witness 3 of four props working ,one not moving,Told to get back on,(still only 3 moving,now petrified,a plane had come down in the pyrenees a few weeks before.Got back on waited a good half hour before ,"we will be taking off in 5 minutes.Luckily I could not see if all 4 props where moving,but i have to say I was bricking it as was everbody else.Worse 3 hour of my life.

    Sorry, more holidays  B).  I'm heading to Vienna next week for 3 nights then taking a boat on the Danube to Bratislava for 3 nights. Any recommendations for sightseeing, restaurants and bars would be more than welcome. Cheers all.

    There’s some great bars in Bratislava old town, along with some nice places to eat in and around the main square.
