+++ Jérôme Roussillon Signs on a short term deal +++

genuinely what was the point in signing this fella???
if you are an out of contract professional footballer the least you'd be doing is keeping yourself super fit on the off chance an offer might come in?1 -
Become clear he wouldn't play that U21 game without a contract (fair enough) but @Elthamaddick is right, it's mad he wasn't keeping himself fitter. Hernandez clearly isn't great and has a bit of timber on him but at least he came to us fit enough to get on the pitch3
-
He didn't perform a single jog on the touchline, which is very odd for a player signed on a short-term contract for a short-term need.Maybe NJ is showing the board that we need proper signings and not just gap fillers.2
-
He did applaud a positive bit of play whilst 'warming up' , but that seemed to be the full extent of his exertions.8
-
My opinion is based on looking at the shape of him, and that first half in the U21’s, so probably not valid. However if he plays I think he will make Hernandez look like Declan Rice by comparison.4

Pleased someone else saw this. It was bizarre. Tanto and I’m sure one of the coaching staff asked him to warm up properly and didn’t get more than a walk up and down the touchlinemendonca said:He didn't perform a single jog on the touchline, which is very odd for a player signed on a short-term contract for a short-term need.Maybe NJ is showing the board that we need proper signings and not just gap fillers.2 -
Saw him warm up yesterday, what was that? He looks nowhere near match fit and didn't even run once. Hope he is on a very short term with us.0

#ISawRoussillonWarmUp could be a good username for someone
Reminds me when we had someone use that for Cory Gibbs way back
If the guy isn't fit I don't know why he's here as more than likely he'll go in January10 -
seems like such a strange situation, as someone has said it's almost like NJ deliberately got him as a statement to say this is what you get when you don't pay any money.Bubble said:

I'm visualising him and Hernandez on the pitch at the same time

Another free agent masterclass signing from Jones. Absolutely pathetic6
-
Might as well given the contract to pre-season trialist Joe Bennett, at least he has been keeping fit playing in non-league0

Wonder if he's saying to owners 'this is what we will get if I dont have funds to play with' and 'i can't play him because he isn't fit enough'?DDOUBLEE said:Another free agent masterclass signing from Jones. Absolutely pathetic0 -
Ah we’ve got to the “hyper analysis of every little thing” phase.
Maybe let’s see what he’s like if and when he gets on the pitch shall we?6 -
I thought we'd resigned Jimmy Floyd Bottlebank0
-
Reckon Hernandez could fit Jimmy's shorts.0

I saw a shot of what looked like someone's dad in the dugout, was that him?Callumcafc said:Ah we’ve got to the “hyper analysis of every little thing” phase.

I think Tuesday's line up had an element of experiment about it, the midfield in the first half looked as if no one knew where they should be playing. It was an awful lot better in the second half but we moved Campbell to wing back and played the arriving substitutes in the correct positions. As for Rousillon and for that matter Hernandez, the actual contract should state, 'Till January' then we get our sick and lame back or bring someone in who has actually had the benefit of a pre-season.0

I really don't get it?
Not a single jog warming up and just some quite arrogant smirks whenever a player approaches who is warming up properly.3 -

Anyone got any pics of this peak physical specimen "warming up"?0

Nathan Jones is keeping him around as a warning to the others about what happens when you neglect your career15
-
This whole situation is just weird. Why is he on the bench if he is not fit enough to play in a position we are in desperate need of. Something very odd going on I think1
-
I think way too many people are reading way too much into it tbh.
He's probably pretty unfit, he's on the bench atm in an emergency (so we don't have a repeat of the game where Bell and Burke both went off) and as such probably doesn't warm up as hard as others do. Some players don't warm up a lot compared to others, I remember we had someone on the bench a few years ago, might have been Crofts, who warmed up all 90 mins, never came on, and they said a couple of weeks later that he lost 2kg in sweat alone that game despite not actually making an appearance!5 -
Andrew Crofts -God I'd forgotten we had him, absolutely woeful. We had another midfielder that season of a similar mould, who was equally useless in a brief CAFC career - can't quite place him?0
