    Had an email from Thetrainline.com earlier saying the 22:13 from Fratton to London is no longer running on the 29th. Rather annoying.

    Probably. If it kicks off outside Fratton (normally does) then the police will close the station and make you walk into town.

    If that is the last scheduled train it is almost guaranteed to run.

    Most will travel down the A3, but if you are coming from any direction that would use M3 / M27 be aware that the M27 is fully closed in both directions between J9 and J11.

    New Year’s Day will arrive as usual: with a cracking headache for alot of Addicks and the desperate search for an instant hangover cure (hair of the dog, bacon sandwich, or blind optimism, all acceptable).

    Before that though, i'm really looking forward to HMS Victory docking at Fratton Park on the 29th. We need Jones to fully embrace the nautical, channel his inner Nelson, and unleash the Battle of Trafalgar spirit at Fratton Park. Eye patch optional, fingers tapped & ultra black uniform compulsary . 

    Let’s make it a nine unbeaten and extend the run v Pompey. A point or three would be ideal and would represent a fair-to-middling return against three pretty poor sides, Oxford, Norwich, Pompey. Nothing flashy needed, just solid press, our top guns firing, and  solid old seamanship,  and no one falling overboard in the first ten minutes & any red mist or crazy red card challenges. With any luck, admirial Jones can then sail back up the Thames, docking triumphantly at Woolwich, casks of rum in the hold and a hard-earned victory stashed below deck.

    And then… the real test.
    A full-blown Napoleonic battle against Frank-en-Stein’s Coventry  stitched together from spare parts, powered by ambition, and prowling the touchline, our very own deranged Welsh Dragon. i'm strangely feeling more optimistic for New Years Day and a good result against Coventry, here's hoping we wipe smile of Fat Frank.
