So very sad to hear this news confirmed 😢
Like many of you on here I didn’t know him to speak to but would look out for him at away games, it made me smile when I spotted him.
Really hope the club or us fans can pay tribute in some way on Tuesday as I feel that will be important for everyone. Of course if possible the family and friends should be considered in this.
Will miss seeing you at away games Norm 🎧

The one person who would keep me upto date with the scores before the internet was a thing. North lower block F. I will miss you.

Don't want to say anything until the name is released but the club did the right thing, maybe people from outside the club may not understand why. As for the first responders they  fought manfully to try to save him. RIP legend, you will be missed, but never forgotten.
That was heart-breaking today -  @Bailey I can remember him walking round with his sound system playing  around our estate long before he had headphones, always such a gentle, kind person.  And was thinking when my  Dad always gave me money to buy a Saturday night paper off him  for the footy results when he sold them on the corner of our Road. RIP a true Charlton legend.
He was a classmate of mine at Woodhill, he was such a nice person then and although I lost touch with him when we went to Secondary schools, I think he never changed. When I took Lennie up to the hall of fame, and to see him receive recognition for his support, was a wonderful moment. So pleased '4ever' that he got that accolade, you are right such a lovely guy and part of our best memories.

He has sat behind me for so many years.
He got there 90 seconds after KO today, and I said - you’ve left it late, and he said Hi there.
A few moments later and  someone around me noticed something was wrong.
    Terrible day.

Oh no at away gamed for as long as I can remember he was there, so reassuring to see him. When we won at Wembley in 2019 I shook his hand, he seemed such a lovely fellow. In bits now so so sad.

In bits. Shared so many delays, cancellations and traffic jams over many years, yet it would never phase him, just shrugged his shoulders in his own unique way. There will never be another. RIP Norman, safe journey upstairs mate
Feels bizarre that we were only on the coach with him last Tuesday.

RIP to a legend in the truest sense of the word.

My best mate cradled him in his arms before the emergency services got there, no words can describe my grief, still crying now.
Look after your mate, pretty sure a lot of us are crying with you❤️

Norm epitomised everything Charlton. In fact whenever going to away games over the decades I always looked out for him and hoped to see him. You knew you were amongst Charlton family whenever he was there (and he always was) and his iconic look was just the best. I am so gutted that Norm has passed, rest in peace fellow Addick family member. You will always always be remembered so fondly. RIP x

Such a truly lovely fella. Lived round the corner from my sister and saw him often on the 291 as we headed to games, home & away, over the years. Sometimes, football means everything in the world. Sometimes, it means nothing at all. Rest in Peace gentle soul.

This morning it felt like an important game. Now it doesn't feel important at all.

I’ve just read the When Saturday Comes Facebook page - many hundreds of comments from fans of all clubs, including Pompey.

RIP headphones…never spoke to you but saw you everywhere.

I just went back through my old footage and found a couple of clips of Norm.

He spoke so elegantly, and you always got a certain warmness from him. A truly humble man.

"I've laughed with them, & I've cried with them"

"You're gonna have lots of laughs, and you'll probably shed the odd tear, but, such is life, it's good fun"

That second quote feeling rather fitting today.

Proud of how our fans handled this to get attention to the incident, and well done to all those that helped him.

I genuinely feel we lost a huge part of our club today.
