I must stop predicting games to end 0-0. When one of the teams scores in the first few minutes, there's a sinking feeling as all you can hope for is one point from that game. At least if you predict 3-3, you can live in the hope that there will be a late rush of goals, even if it is still 0-0 after 60 minutes. Of course, it doesn't happen, but there's that ray of hope until about the 80th minute when you can cling to the fact you will still get a point if it remains 0-0. It probably doesn't. I often wonder what would happen if I had the power to award points to competitors who were unlucky - you know, a late stoppage time goal, a goal disallowed due to an iffy VAR decision, or a sending off that turns a game around. Of course, if I could award points in such a way, it would take all day Monday deciding who was unlucky and who had made a bad prediction. So, we stick to the old, tried-and-trusted system. This week, there are four Sunday games in the Premier League to choose from, so you might take the pressure off making your posts until you are sitting down in an armchair on Saturday night, knowing Charlton have won at Birmingham by a 3-0 margin. Well, we live in hope, but don't take my word for it if you choose that game as one of your three predictions this week. As ever, good luck.
