Justice for Players

I’m surprised that this isn’t already being spoken about on CL.
If this legal action goes through then clubs like ours will suffer immensely. Players won’t be held down by contracts at all, and move from club to club at any time. Would this even put an end to all transfer fees?
Can anyone feel any sympathy for the players?

As if players don't have enough power already!
There's multiple examples this season alone of players "not playing for the manager" and getting him sacked.0 -
What a wonderful idea. Introduce a system that allows the teams who can pay the highest wages to get all the best players but in a way where the selling club can't even soften the blow by holding out for a big transfer fee that they can reinvest!2

No win no fee ambulance chasers based in The Netherlands with no real interest in player welfare other than being a source of revenue. If it wasn't this "cause", it would be another.
Chancers that will likely (and hopefully) get no-where.1 -
I've always felt for the players in top flight football who earn so little and can't just fuck off to play for another club at the drop of a hat. I hope Lyle Taylor gets some recognition for his hard work on this before all this became fashionable.5

Wonder who is funding the case?0

I don't see a problem.Let them have standard employment contracts that can be terminated by the player giving notice (say 3 months) and can be terminated by the club for capability (performance, long-term injury) Gross misconduct (with no notice) or repeated misconduct following formal disciplinary warnings. Also redundancy - e.g. reduction in the number of defenders required and redundant players selected against set performance criteria. All of that is fair in employment law that applies to everyone else.No transfer fees but see how many clubs will want a player who is constantly on the move (no different to recruiting someone into any role - multiple jobs in a short space of time is usually a warning sign).Set compensation for scholars who move within a set period of time after signing their first pro contract.Oh, and minimum wage.2

It's all being underwritten by a litigation fund. Who want 25% of any payout, plus costs.Rizzo said:Wonder who is funding the case?
Although it goes on to say that Dutch players are automatically covered by the action unless they opt-out, so why would you want to sign up with them if you are Dutch when you may still get a payout regardless - and (presumably) no fees to pay!
