Coventry [h]-1/1/26 Train disruption

New Years Day
Thursday 1 January

London Charing Cross, London Cannon Street and Waterloo East stations are closed with most trains diverted to London Victoria and a limited service at London Bridge.

A Sunday service will be running except for engineering work where buses replace trains on the following routes:

  • Lewisham to Orpington via Grove Park
  • Greenwich & Dartford via New Cross and Sidcup
  • Folkestone and Dover/Deal
  • Canterbury East and Dover
  • Sevenoaks and Ashford via Maidstone East

Trains depart London Bridge at 02, 18, 32, 48 Minutes past the hour.

After the game trains depart Charlton at 17.00, 17.09, 17.20, 17.30, 17.39 past the hour.

There will be no trains between Lewisham/ Blackheath & Charlton

Thameslink services depart Charlton at 17.09 & 17.39 & will run through Central London to Kentish Town.

    That’s a far superior train service to and from the ground than there was getting to and from their place.

    And to add to that, Clapham Junction to Waterloo is also closed so it’s a bit of a nightmare journey all round!
    There are some running between Clapham and Waterloo, just have to change at Clapham Junction

    Depends from where in Blackheath, 54 runs through Blackheath Village to Charlton Village, 380 takes more scenic route via Lewisham Hill, Hare & Billet Road.

    There are some running between Clapham and Waterloo, just have to change at Clapham Junction
    I'm heading from Staines so get caught out in it completely. No idea how I'll get home after the Chelsea game when they've closed the lines for then too

    Get the 22.09 Thameslink from Charlton to Blackfriars, District Line to Richmond & then get the 23.36 to Staines arrive at 23.52.

    Get the 22.09 Thameslink from Charlton to Blackfriars, District Line to Richmond & then get the 23.36 to Staines arrive at 23.52.
    Let's hope it doesn't go to extra time and penalties, that's my fear!

    Liz Line to/from Heathrow then 442/X442? This is why I moved back from Staines to Charlton!
