One of the top 5 teams at home in Europe 2025

  • If you’re going to include the 3rd and 4th divisions in one country then the same should be included for the other countries. Otherwise it’s a meaningless statistic imo.

Top 10 based on league matches (does not include play off semi) puts us slightly lower.  It makes sense to exclude play offs if we are only concentration on the league.

Top 10 teams by home wins in 2025 (league matches only)

    RankTeamHome wins in 2025
    1Bradford19
    2Barcelona18
    2Coventry18
    4Birmingham17
    5Man City16
    6Real Madrid15
    6Charlton15
    6Bayern Munich15
    6Ath Madrid15
    10Arsenal14

Covers Calendar year 2025. Criteria due to lack of data, can only cover the following leagues

ChatGPT does not have access to data points to include cup wins, but assume the above stat includes these also.

And to think we should have won the Millwall*nk game, had the Pompey game called off (rightfully so given what happened) and also managed to lose the Leicester game to an absolute worldie
  • Amazing given we only won one home league game in October, one in November and one in December!!

Only because we barely completed a home game in those months.

‘One of the top 5 teams at home in Europe 2025, you’ll never sing that’

    Can’t sing it today though.

Apart from the Portsmouth game, which other home games weren’t completed ?

My point was we have barely played at home in those months. 12 weeks, 5 games total (3 were in October). 3 wins, 1 draw, 1 defeat.

Conversely we played 9 away in the same period, which seems perverse.

The club posted a short 2025 video yesterday and it was a nice reminder that this has actually been an amazing year for us. We got good in December last year and since then other than November and December this year it's been all good. Good second half of last season, good Wembley trip, exciting summer and great start to life in the Championship. Even with all the injuries and tough games we still didn't end the year in the drop zone. Brilliant year for following the club

To add to this, it’s also not clear why we have 3 away and 1 home over the Xmas period. Blackburn are at home today and on Sunday.

    Bizarre scheduling abandoned game aside.
