Dapo Afolayan signs for Blackburn. Was a good player for Bolton a few years back.
Back in the day, we turned him down and signed Jayaisim instead.

One went on to play in the Bundasliga before coming to the Championship, and the other has gone to Barnet.

Not one of Gallen’s best decisions.
  • From the BBC transfer blog, Fofana looks to be off to Strasbourg

Chelsea will have completed around 11 deals with Strasbourg by the end of the transfer window.
They have recalled loanee Mamadou Sarr from the French club, with Aaron Anselmino expected to move in the opposite direction.
Striker David Datro Fofana is also expected to join Strasbourg from Chelsea.
There have been numerous other transactions between the two clubs, including two further loanees moving from Stamford Bridge to Stade de la Meinau, Ben Chilwell departing on a free transfer to Alsace, and Liam Rosenior replacing Enzo Maresca as Chelsea head coach last month.
An absolute farce that this is allowed.
  • Unfortunately Millwall batted away interest in probably their most threatening player Azzes. Ipswich put in a multiple bids.
Good that we’re in a position where we can turn down bids in excess of £15 million for one of our best players. In the past he would’ve been gone.
You have got a fair chance in the play-offs this year mate (unfortunately!!)
so you did well to keep him

I think if you hadn’t been in the position in the league table, he probably would’ve gone.

It is. They’ve done it with Vitesse Arnhem in the past and it’s no more than we did in the Duchatelet years and Watford have been doing with Udinese.

I envy the amount of money they're throwing around, but it's quite funny that Palace have spent over 100 million on a front 3 of Brenan Johnson, Strand Larson and Dwight McNeil this window. That's a relegation front 3, hopefully next year

They pulled out of the McNeil deal at the last minute.

They’ve also kept Mateta. Of course they have. They’ll be fine sadly.

Rumours swirling yesterday that medical at AC uncovered an issue and he is out for 3 months

I doubt he’ll contribute particularly positively to their season. At least I hope not.
I’m hoping he’ll be the sort of toxic influence that most decent managers would freeze out and force to train on his own.
I’m also hoping Glasner is so disenchanted with the club that he doesn’t do that. 😎
And if Strand Larsen continues to be as pony as he’s looked so far this year, that’ll be just dandy. With any luck, he’ll forever be in the conversation of “biggest waste of money in the premier league ever”

It is just a phenomenal amount of money for someone who has looked so average this season. Feels like they've gone from impeccably run to car crash in the space of just a couple of months... And I'm loving it.

It’s Palace. Jammiest club around. They’ll be fine, they always are.

They are 9 points clear after a very strong start to the PL.  The way West Ham have picked up points this season means they could likely lose their next 7 games and still not be bottom 3, so, yes, I am sure they will be fine (not really jammy, just a decent season start).

However the pain they are going through now is wonderful to see and the chance of them going down is an unexpected bonus...

and if Larsen ends up being rubbish then that is a huge amount of money wasted. With Glasner, Wharton and Mateta likely off in the summer it makes for fun watching at the moment.

Oxford has confirmed the permanent signing of Aidomo Emakhu from Millwall, he looked good against us earlier this season

I bet old @DOUCHER  wished you lot had come in for him. Back after that game in September he said Emakhu was the only player from our team that he would take

decent enough on the ball but end product let him down more often than not. We have better in that position now and we gave £30k for him and sold him for over a million so a good bit of business for us.

I mean, to be fair I can kind of see her point if I'm honest. I totally get that moves can fall through and things go wrong and while that sucks for the player, it is part of the game.
However in this particular instance it does seem a bit cold that they basically seemed to get cold feet at the last moment but (if this story is true) just didn't bother to communicate with the player at all and just left them completely in the dark. Whatever he earns, that's pretty shoddy behavior and he is right to be put out really.

All teams have different challenges for where they are in the league. We want to stay up and I believe we will. Millwall are threatening a promotion challenge, win and get the dosh and glory. Lose out and get stripped of some of your best players.

I'm glad Palace seemed to have completely fucked this window, sold Guehi for a smaller fee than they could have got in the summer, couldn't sell their disgruntled forward, overpaid for a striker having a stinker of a season for the team rooted to the bottom of the table, couldn't get any more deals over the line at the end, overpaid for a winger from Spurs, and their manager who's holding it all together is upping sticks in the summer.

Just need them to sell Wharton in the summer and sign a load of guff from overachieving world cup sides and they'll finally succumb

Very true but we’re no longer a club who sell our best players for peanuts. We usually turn in a healthy profit and reinvest in the team. That’s the current model and so far it’s paying dividends.

If we miss out this season I believe we’ll be that little bit stronger next year. For the record I think you’ll stay up with room to spare.

  • Plymouth have sold Defender Kornel Szucs to Vojvodina.

Maybe they recently came into some money by selling a Defender of their own 🤔

As he’s on loan can’t it be made permanent at any time?

In theory a deal can be agreed now but can only officially be made permanent in the summer unless there is a loan option to buy which there isn’t

Doesnt really matter given he's not exactly been involved, but Josh Sargeant is moving from Norwich to Toronto for $20m
