Brighton/Chelsea, an insurmountable cup challenge ?
As much as Chelsea is a bigger club than Brighton, I would have thought the cup challenge that ‘U18 coach’ Jason Pearce took on days before the game against Brighton in the league cup at the Valley where we gave the away team some 6k tickets and still couldn’t fill the ground was a much bigger task than the one we face on Saturday night.
That we were a struggling L1 side that had just sacked its manager and the team he put held Premiership Brighton to a draw, battling away for the full ‘90 minutes’ and then went on to beat them on penalties was simply an incredible and unforeseen feat.
whether we can get a similar result against Chelsea or not I don’t know but a team performance like that no matter what the outcome will send me home happy. Maybe Jason could give a little inspirational speech beforehand…

I would take just not getting embarrassed tbh, lose by a goal or 2 is fine, really don’t want to see us concede 53

We did play well that night but wasn't it Brighton's first game after the break for the world cup? Please correct me if wrong.letthegoodtimesroll said:As much as Chelsea is a bigger club than Brighton, I would have thought the cup challenge that ‘U18 coach’ Jason Pearce took on days before the game against Brighton in the league cup at the Valley where we gave the away team some 6k tickets and still couldn’t fill the ground was a much bigger task than the one we face on Saturday night.

sticking to my prediction 0-10 at half time if Chelsea keep trying, probably 0-6 if they can't be bothered2

Anthony Hayes was appointed as caretaker manager following the sacking Ben Garner with Pearce as Hayes’s interim assistant during the games they were in charge for before the permanent appointment of Dean HoldenOff_it said:Jason Pearce?
Hayes had 3 games in charge which includes the Brighton League Cup game and the FA Cup defeat up at Stockport3 -

This game is irrelevant to the importance of our season.
