I was asked yesterday by someone who has not seen us before as to what is the origin of the Sword on our badge - any ideas?

    Think it’s linked to when our nickname was the Valiants.

    Was created in the 1965 along with the Valiants nickname.

    Some suggestions that it is connected to the City of London coat of arms but not seen definative evidence of this.

    Reason why people claim it's the City Of London sword is because of the similarities in the cross guard, so it's plausible it's based on it, as it's a pretty unique shape
