    On a free, yeah great, money paid to Ipswich for him absolutely not. I might be wrong but because of the agents being in America for the world cup, I would have thought most clubs would like to get their summer business done early, so this one might have some legs, also, if Clarke were to sign we could spend the summer teaching him some finishing skills.

    Just because he’s on a free doesn’t mean it’s a given we’d get him. I’d imagine he’s on much more money than the rest of our squad for someone of his age and experience. He’ll want to keep it that way. If Carter is saying we’ll only be mid table on wages in three years time I can’t see how we’d could compete with the majority of the teams in this league.
