Hi everyone, welcome to yet another early kick off…

Well…that day is upon us, a nice short trip across to New Cross, and a very much anticipated match against "them!", where we will give our all I am sure in search of a positive result, maybe even that seemingly elusive win…🤷‍♂️, "they" sit in 5th spot 😒, in the table rather strangely the only team in the top 10 with a negative goal difference, but still seem to pull off wins annoyingly, be nice to put a stop to that today eh!

Nathan is hopeful that Lloyd Jones will be available having been withdrawn at half-time in midweek, while Harvey Knibbs and Josh Edwards are both long-term absentees. Amari'i Bell and Onel Hernández are also sidelined, "the other lot" will be without Lukas Jensen, Daniel Kelly, Massimo Luongo, Derek Mazou-Sacko , Will Smallbone and Benicio Baker.

We've met on 75 previous occasions, winning 11 (Dear God, is that all!!!), "them" 37 and the remaining 27 games resulting in draws, the reverse fixture saw the spoils shared in a 1-1 draw at The Valley in September 2025, a game we should have won really.

We will be sporting our red Reebok home kit, which is nice…

Team news…Luke Chambers will make his Charlton debut this afternoon

Chambers joined on loan for Liverpool this week and is one of three changes Nathan Jones makes to his side. Harry Clarke and Joe Rankin-Costello both return to the starting XI.

Kayne Ramsay, captain Lloyd Jones and Macaulay Gillesphey make up a back three in front of Thomas Kaminski.

Clarke and Chambers are expected to operate as wing-backs with Rankin-Costello, Karoy Anderson and Sonny Carey in midfield, behind Lyndon Dykes and Tyreece Campbell.

Will Mannion, Reece Burke, Conor Coventry, Luke Berry, Ibrahim Fullah, Miles Leaburn, Charlie Kelman, Matty Godden and Rob Apter make up the substitutes bench.

Charlton: Kaminski; Ramsay, Jones (c), Gillesphey; Clarke, Rankin-Costello, Anderson, Carey, Chambers; Dykes, Campbell

Subs: Mannion, Burke, Coventry, Berry, Fullah, Leaburn, Kelman, Godden, Apter

Never really a good time to play Milwall but with a bunch of injuries, a jaded looking squad and restless elements of the fanbase this is a particularly not good time.

Just keeping the score respectable is all I dare to wish for.

Can all Lifers please make sure they have something planned for this afternoon from about 2.30 that they enjoy and find relaxing or at least distracting. We can get through this.
To those going to the game - good luck. You’re stronger people than me.

Left X the day Musk took over - What do the Millwall faithful have to say? Encouragement? Solidarity? That we should be struggling together?

Hmm... Not sure I agree with Coventry being on the bench...
At least Chambers goes straight in at Left Wing-Back, hopefully that helps protect Gillesphey a little better.

Happy with the line up. Chambers straight in and Lloyd back. Apter on the bench too. With Campbell's goal earlier in the week he should be fired up as well

I’m even less convinced by the attack .

Bizarre if he's not carrying a knock.

Quite a game to be chucking a 19yr old on for his debut but better than fudging LWB.
  • That lineup is a joke

    Nice to see Jones starting.

Maybe we will see a better performance from Gillesphey with a ‘proper’ LWB next to him?

Also, I hope we are in for a DM, because Anderson in nowhere near a championship regular starter for me.

    Midfield lucky dip.

    TC freed up.

    Chambers thrown straight in.

    Jones fit or playing regardless.

    Apter back on the bench.

Doc left out completely, on the way out?

Darren Ambrose thinks ‘we’ll be fine’ and won’t go down.
    Hmmm.

So he’s got Campbell playing up top? Why not Kelman?

I thought the Midfield looked a lot better with Coventry in it on Tuesday night
But then we've not seen Costello and Anderson together (?)
Unsurprising to see Campbell starting seeing that his pace scared the shite out of them

Not having Coventry is a mistake. JRC is good with the ball but he hasn't got the gas to get around the pitch enough to help cover Karoy's positional indiscipline. On the plus side, Karoy is going to kick a lot of people
