    Brief highlights from Leicester YouTube.

  • I know it was v ten men, and I know we looked dodgy second half, but amazing what having two decent looking wing-backs did for us first half.

Its so reassuring having Bell and Ramsay either side of Jones

Enjoyable win.... but it WAS v 10 men

Content on train home but not getting carried away...

(Now plotting trips to the  Valley for Derby and Pompey)

Before I get on too the positives ?
WTF was Conor Coady doing kicking the ball out when the Leicester player was injured when they were already down to 10 men; this is professional football and the lad didn't have a broken leg or a head injury.

Also why did Coady run up to the ref with the negative hand sign to the ref as if  he had made a mistake with the Red card ? Just saw it again and it's not a good look.
I want everyone committed 100% to cafc not the club they played for last Season.

Definitely Red card despite a long way from goal which changed the dynamics in the game so we don't know if 11 v 11 with that starting line up would've won the game but a draw we would've all taken at KO.

3 excellent 1st half 'goals' from CAFC with a smashing legit goal from the corner by Carey, followed by an excellent finish by Ginger genius from a decent cross by Clarke.

Good work by Docherty and a skilled accurate cross by the impressive Chambers for a sharp finish from Dykes.

Great 3 points to stop the slide but we have so much work still to do and we don't want Miles to have another injury.

Do you honestly think Coady was trying to tell the ref not to send him off? Like do you genuinely believe that’s what he was doing?

    jesus wept

The Ref already had the red in his hand so I couldn't see what the negative hand signals were for as the ref had already rightly sent the player off.
Don't bring Jesus into this as I'm an atheist !
Fine, he was running up to his Leicester mates.

I think seeing Conor hug the opposition in the tunnel and kick the ball out when he shouldn't have, as the lad didn't have a broken leg or a head injury I thought he had forgotten what team he played for 🙄

Was I the only person annoyed when Coady kicked the ball out to stop the game when Choudhury was down. They were all at sea and we needed to make 11 v 9 count while the player was down.
Obviously we don't go gung ho.

Calm down, Calm down after last week I'm still in pain.

So you can guarantee that every game from now on will see the opposition reduced 9 or 10 Mem. Because that is what it has required for Charlton to win their last two games.  It is reasonable for fans to be worried about our current form of the last  three months.
Our current form now shows a 50% win rate over the past four games.

Followed this on here as I was away from my usual connectivity, but the first half sounded fantastic. The second half was different. The first penalty caught me looking at BBC live score, and then someone posted a second one on here. But all good. A fantastic 2-0 away win against avteam who could yet end up in real trouble.
We still have work to do but if can start to rebuild the spirit we had at the start of the season, we should be fine. Very very happy tonight.

Well the 1st game I’ve missed this season, managed to see the lineup before and have to say if I was able to post it wouldn’t have been very encouraging,, However it seems we got a better performance which we needed and sounds like some of our signings might be ok, it’s a step in the right direction. Good result and one we really needed. Well Nj and the team.

In other news, West Brom getting a canning by a resurgent Pompey, Birmingham winning at Oxford, Daniel Kanu and Patrick Casey scoring for their respective clubs, Mbick still injured.

There is some reason for optimism now. We competed much better from the start but the sending off which was a rare decision the ref got right, made it easier. I think we started the second half poorly but did play out of it and we are not going to change from shit to great in an instant. We need to ake the most of the three home games approaching.

Just watched it back again and I can't understand why Conor isn't addressing the Leicester players with his hand signals; I still think it looks weird but Fuck it I'm outnumbered and I'm so deep in this hole some buggers may bury me 🤷🏻‍♂️

I still think the ref should be sanctioned for disallowing our first. I mean, how does that happen? We should have lost anyway last week, but that's two perfectly good goals disallowed in two games! We don't score enough to have refs do that.

Humble pie for my dinner, I thought we'd get smashed. Bell makes so much difference and Lloyd was his usual amazing self even playing with ankle issues. Clarke and Dykes were superb in my opinion. Well done to NJ all the players and those that made the journey 👏

Several results have gone for us today, with Norwich, Blackburn, Oxford and West Brom all losing.
Shame Pompey have won - but then they were playing West Brom! :)

But the important result was Charlton winning.
Confidence building, clean sheet - and 3 points.

I think we need to give Jones credit for the subs too. Leaburn was enforced obviously. But Leicester came out after halftime with a plan to get Fatawu and Mavididi on the ball and to run ay us in wide areas. They were having some success and pushing our back line and midfield further and further back as we were scared of their pace. The changes to bring on TC and Fevrier to play out wide allowed us to double up on those 2 when they got the ball and basically removed that threat. We got a handle on the game and as Leicester tired they didn't have anything else to offer.

I tell you what was a shock, he came out for a long throw and caught it. It would be nice to see him do that more often.

Two wonderful goals from the Ginger Man and Dick Van Dykes in particular.

As soon as I saw the line up I said any positive result would rely on Chambers and Clarke getting in good crosses and both goals came from Jack and Luke putting the ball toward the six yard box and excellent goals from Carey and Dykes. You wait for ages for goal balls in and two come along together plus the sublime corner by the 'wives sweetheart' which would've seen Clarke header being another goal but...

  • Brilliant 2-0 win which was really 3-0 as refs incompetence chalked off our first. The boys looked up for it today in a way that was sadly  lacking against Millwall. With West Brom getting spanked today, I’m reasonably confident we will be staying up ! My mate was saying what a donkey he thought Dykes was when he scored !
I thought all of our new signings gave use a solid look today. Leicester look a long way off a promotion chasing side even if they have some talent in their team. Unless they get a good manager in quickly I can see things really falling apart as per West Brom !
