I wonder if there is one eye on Manchester City here. By minimising penalties now, they'll be able to keep them in the Premiership.Redrobo said:Only six!
For knowingly cheating.
Should be automatic relegation. End of.
Stop the risk to our football Clubs going out of business.2 -

A week ago we still had an ace to play in 2.5k+ (?) Charlton fans rocking up at Leicester and turning the match into a home game and encouraging that win and adding to the Leicester fans malaise. Teams such as Blackburn probably haven’t got a hope in hell of their fans doing something similar and I suspect those clubs like Leicester and West Brom where the current fall is comparatively greater the fanbase may well be hurting a lot more than we were and could well turn their games atmospheres toxic.1 -
I think with West Brom there was quite a bit of bafflement that instead of replacing Ryan Mason with someone that's a championship specialist and just looking to stabilise they've gone and appointed a very unproven manager in Eric Ramsey who is incredibly system and style specific. The sporting director has already paid for it with his job and I can't see them suddenly going on a run4

Erik Ramsay seems like the sort of appointment when you're already in League One, like when McKenna took over at Ipswich... Rot already stopped, and ready to start looking upwards - Instead a first gig at a struggling side in perhaps the toughest Division in Europe... Yeah probably not a good idea in hindsight.MarcusH26 said:I think with West Brom there was quite a bit of bafflement that instead of replacing Ryan Mason with someone that's a championship specialist and just looking to stabilise they've gone and appointed a very unproven manager in Eric Ramsey who is incredibly system and style specific. I don't understand all this talk about Leicester being too good to go down and getting out of the relegation battle easily.
They didn't look too good against us, nor at home to Oxford the previous weekend. Even earlier in the season, when they beat us, it was only a bit of individual magic that got them the win. We absolutely battered them in that game and should have easily won.
I don't think they'll be looking forward to their upcoming matches and I doubt if they will have the backbone for a relegation slog (as shown in their last 2 games).
Birmingham (a)
Southampton (h)
Stoke (a)
Boro (a)
Norwich (h)
Ipswich (a)
Let's see where they are after their next 6 league games (hopefully many, many points behind us).5 -
They also deliberately were uncooperative apparently, which some thought would cost them a bigger deduction.stoneroses19 said:Obviously any points deducted is good for us, but do feel they've got away with it. Does not seem harsh enough considering how much they overspent. If they get relegated this season, that changes things, but still think other owners will look at 6 points deducted and think it's worth overspending. Gamble pays off and they get promoted to premier league, it doesn't work out and they only lose 6 points next season.0 -
They spent well in transfer window and doubt they will go down, still on us to get the required points, take a draw tonight and a win against Pompey in the next 3 games stoke is a free hit1

Why would any club be cooperative? Everton were cooperative and got hammered repeatedly, whilst Man City haven't cooperated, still not punished. SW weren't cooperative, repeatedly avoided points deductions/relegation. If they'd manage to sell earlier they probably would never have been properly punished.Pelling1993 said:

The Prem and EFL have made it clear, they rewards you if you play silly buggers, they punish you if you even try to help them.0 -
You're sort of right but part of City's charges are for being uncooperative before so they could still get punished for thatrandy andy said:

Respectfully disagree with this. Our success in the last twelve months has been built on shutting teams out who we should beat. Jones has done really well with it. I expect us to have too much for Wednesday.DamoNorthStand said:MartinCAFC said:
This table almost needs a Sheff Weds factor to it as in who still has to play them almost feels like they have a game in hand.Er_Be_Ab_Pl_Wo_Wo_Ch said:
Portsmouth and Blackburn have played them twice. Ironically Sheff Weds three of there last four games of the season are against ourselves, Oxford and West Brom last game.
Personally, I am not expecting us to go to Sheff Weds and win. It is just the sort of game we would fuck up in.
Yesterday's news has actually made tonight more important. A win tonight really puts us in a strong position.0
