    That’s a lovely post @Arthur_Trudgill

(Assuming you’re not an AI Boy as well!)
Indeed, it's possible I'm an AI boy, but if so, I would not be a Large Language Model, as I'm not large and certainly not a model 😉

What I love is that there are some other nutters out there going through the same horseshit I am - I was born into Charlton as I am sure most of us were and it hurts - most of the time.

But ... there are those moments, those seasons where it all clicks and it's worth it.

Knowing that there are people out there feeling elated or destroyed just like me gives me some crumbs of comfort when you just cannot believe the dice have rolled badly for us again.

Or the the incredible has happened and we are actually on the up again as we are right now.

There is a humanity to this club that can't be articulated - everyone on Charltonlife knows exactly what I am talking about.

Genuinely couldn’t put it better myself. Plus we all know that look we get when we tell someone that we support Charlton and are faced with that question “why” lol

Have you told the Hippo to stare at the wall and think about what he's done?
I’ve bought 4 of those mats now!

More common for me 'who' unless I happen to meet someone who's heard of Zheng Zhi

That despite having never lived in the area, I had a wee chuckle when passing the Millers in Bexley today

had you drove past last night, you'd have been unlucky not to see a few munters having a wee outside
  • I consider myself a 70s person so keeping up with modern slang makes CL essential reading.  I would never use the term myself of course ... just interested in the etymology.  :|

    • 1990s (UK Slang): According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the earliest evidence for munter as a noun (meaning an unattractive person) appears in 1997, with student glossaries from 1999 and 2000 noting its prevalence in the UK.

    • Etymology: The term is likely derived from munt or munted (intoxicated; disgusting), which arose in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand in the mid-to-late 1990s

It's a strange thing, but every time I see a new post on this thread, I hope it's the AI Bot come back again to showcase its in-depth appreciation of life in SE7.
