Completely understand my point doesn’t apply to everyone and I’m not taking shots at people who genuinely can’t afford or struggle due to ridiculous travel complications and can’t manage going to every game. But I don’t think it’s unfair to say there are definitely certain people out there who can realistically do it they just don’t choose to more out of inconvenience for them and having less affiliation with the club. Not saying going to more games makes u more or less of a fan but if for example you had time and money to go to L1 games yet didn’t want to go but suddenly have those exact same resources but willing to do it now in the Championship I think that holds some weightSword65pf said:
I think you are maybe stepping on dodgy grd with that comment, not everyone that goes to football are well off and may be stretching themselves financially already, to be fair it’s down to the individual circumstance to decide if that £90 tips the balance and nobody should feel they need to justify why it’s become unaffordable and that situation isn’t a gauge to how much they love Charlton. Not having a pop but I think with the way of the world people have no choice about they’re priorities, to many football is a luxury that has to be ditched.Crispywood said:
That’s an extra £90 over a season or an extra £4 a game. I understand cost of living etc but that’s literally the equivalent of 4 takeouts or 15 pints a season. I would hope people who genuienly love and properly support the club would be able to find that extra amount of money a year and if thats not viable there’s always alternative seating and if seating means that much to you it affects your ability to want to stop watching your club id argue you really don’t care about watching Charlton enough in the first placesuperclive98 said:I could see that level of 12k season ticket holders taking a hit if the starting price for zone 2 is £550.0 -
Well I am zone 2 and a pensioner and I can tell you private and the state pension have not gone up by 13.4% this year.Crispywood said:

If the club want to appeal to the new communities within SE London, then this is not the way to go about it.2

True but there is zero indication of a price reduction or modest increase only.fenaddick said:

There is also zero indication of a price hike for this campaign. It's purely speculation until the campaign is released, even if you are speculating based on previous monetisationvalleynick66 said:

How is that, if I believe 13.4% increase in ticket prices will not encourage the new communities to become Charlton supporters. They make up at least 41% of the local cohort.superclive98 said:

I think superclive98's comment was a subtle dig at the post on the previous page where we apparently don't care enough about Charlton if we won't suck up a £500 per person ST increase, or something like that.msomerton said:

Not exactly that but yes @Crispywood was implying that people who wouldn't pay an increased ST price didn't care about Charlton enough.Briston_Addick said:

Let’s be honest, the club are going to announce a price increase, probably early bird being the last price amount after the play offs. Then there will be another increase after early bird. We have American owners, they’re going to increase the price. We also will be told that we need a bigger revenue to help us compete budget wise against some “monster” clubs and budgets. To think otherwise I think we are falling ourselves. And it might be the first year I really can’t afford it, which will be a real shame after being a season ticket holder for almost 20 years, considering I am 30.7

I’m not saying everyone im saying people who can afford the costs of travel and expenses. If there’s someone who can happily order a takeaway every other week or even a month which is £15-20 odd quid, but are moaning about an extra £3-£4 a game over a year then yeah I’d honestly question what the big deal is if you genuinely care and support Charlton.superclive98 said:

I’d personally say that makes me a bigger Charlton fan than he is a man united fan, because I’m willing to put in extra commitment and effort when the finances are not a restriction.Same with some not all sofa fans if you have the time and money why wouldn’t you want to get down to the valley and support your team and contribute to a good atmosphere if you genuinely love the club. That’s just my personal opinion I can absolutely appreciate it’s not possible for everyone and people who are actually restricted shouldn’t be criticised because of it but there are definitely instances where some people are casuals and some are proper diehard fans. I’m not gonna sit here and say legends like Sebbo and Norm only did it because they had the money and time they did it because they loved the club.1 -
Doing some rudimentary sums (as I don’t want to have the displeasure of going on their site) I think it’s a £150 increase on most stands compared to 2025/26.clive said:Millwall season ticket details

They only need to sell a critical mass, reach a tipping point number, possibly 18k (I’m guessing that number, I suspect it could be lower). If there are 18k ST holders and 3K away fans then that means there is a maximum of 6k available for match day sales. 3k of those would sell straight away to Charlton fans that don’t want to commit to a ST for various reasons (work, whatever) which leaves just 3k for day trippers wanting to see a game and the likelihood of a near sold out/sold out stadium to attract them. Having bronze, silver, gold or even platinum prices for selling those 6k would work a lot better.cabbie8 said:Keep them cheap and pack it out
For us to pull in anywhere near 18k season ticket holders we'd have to reduce the prices to a level I am sure the current board would not be prepared to do.

As much chance of a price increase as the spanners getting to Charlton station before us next season.

Getting relegated would be a financial nightmare. Staying in the Championship for a few years could turn out to be a financial catastrophe for their investment plan. Getting promotion to the PL has to be the target for the owners and filing the ground week in, week out will go a long way to helping achieve that. There has to be a trade off on the ST prices.ElfsborgAddick said:letthegoodtimesroll said:

How much would you reduce season ticket prices to, and how much would you make matchday tickets?

The problem the club has is of its own making. The large price hikes after the play-off final were unnecessary but may have been made strategically with this season's renewals in mind.letthegoodtimesroll said:

One thing that they could do, as I have stated before, is make the CE upper zone 3 instead of zone 2. There is no reason for the upper tier to be the same price as 8 blocks in the West Stand.2 -
It would have to be a daft increase for me not to renew my season ticket and I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if there's no early bird increase beyond the post play-off prices.
Although whatever comes through I will think about my discretionary spending in the shop and on pre-match and half-time food and drink in the ground.
I do wonder about the level of success I want in the future. I can see Premier football bringing good things to owners, executives, staff and players but at the same time I don't want to get priced out from going.
I do really hope as part of their 5/10 year plan the club doesn't throw the baby out with the bath water.3 -
Cat A/Gold tickets are currently £35 for zone 2 and £40 for zone 1. We had 5000 empty seats on Saturday. When we inevitably push up prices to £38/£43 next season, that could end up being 7000 empty seats.ElfsborgAddick said:letthegoodtimesroll said:

They got too aggressive with prices this year and really need to have a freeze for a season.
Also, the whole of the North and the corner quadrants should be zone 3.3 -
Scrapping gold / silver categories would be a start.NJ constantly tells us all our games are tough / a challenge after all.We don’t need to temper demand by different pricing. We don’t need to extract every last penny from supporters. But we will.4

Another Cat A/Gold fixture on Saturday v Brum and against Norwich.
Not sure how many others there have been, but definitely Millwall and Pompey.
Hardly glamour fixtures.2 -
Aren’t the gold fixtures more about making the most out of a sold out JS?6

By charging match-by-match home fans more?fenaddick said:Aren’t the gold fixtures more about making the most out of a sold out JS?1 -
They can only charge away fans what they charge fans in the CE lower so if they want to make the most of a sold out JS they have to charge others more too. I don’t like it but I always thought that was (at least a large part) of the methodsuperclive98 said:
