Completely understand my point doesn’t apply to everyone and I’m not taking shots at people who genuinely can’t afford or struggle due to ridiculous travel complications and can’t manage going to every game. But I don’t think it’s unfair to say there are definitely certain people out there who can realistically do it they just don’t choose to more out of inconvenience for them and having less affiliation with the club. Not saying going to more games makes u more or less of a fan but if for example you had time and money to go to L1 games yet didn’t want to go but suddenly have those exact same resources but willing to do it now in the Championship I think that holds some weightSword65pf said:

Let’s be honest, the club are going to announce a price increase, probably early bird being the last price amount after the play offs. Then there will be another increase after early bird. We have American owners, they’re going to increase the price. We also will be told that we need a bigger revenue to help us compete budget wise against some “monster” clubs and budgets. To think otherwise I think we are falling ourselves. And it might be the first year I really can’t afford it, which will be a real shame after being a season ticket holder for almost 20 years, considering I am 30.7

I’m not saying everyone im saying people who can afford the costs of travel and expenses. If there’s someone who can happily order a takeaway every other week or even a month which is £15-20 odd quid, but are moaning about an extra £3-£4 a game over a year then yeah I’d honestly question what the big deal is if you genuinely care and support Charlton.superclive98 said:

Getting relegated would be a financial nightmare. Staying in the Championship for a few years could turn out to be a financial catastrophe for their investment plan. Getting promotion to the PL has to be the target for the owners and filing the ground week in, week out will go a long way to helping achieve that. The problem the club has is of its own making. The large price hikes after the play-off final were unnecessary but may have been made strategically with this season's renewals in mind.letthegoodtimesroll said:

One thing that they could do, as I have stated before, is make the CE upper zone 3 instead of zone 2. There is no reason for the upper tier to be the same price as 8 blocks in the West Stand.2 -
It would have to be a daft increase for me not to renew my season ticket and I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if there's no early bird increase beyond the post play-off prices.
Although whatever comes through I will think about my discretionary spending in the shop and on pre-match and half-time food and drink in the ground.
I do wonder about the level of success I want in the future. I can see Premier football bringing good things to owners, executives, staff and players but at the same time I don't want to get priced out from going.
I do really hope as part of their 5/10 year plan the club doesn't throw the baby out with the bath water.3 -
Cat A/Gold tickets are currently £35 for zone 2 and £40 for zone 1. We had 5000 empty seats on Saturday. When we inevitably push up prices to £38/£43 next season, that could end up being 7000 empty seats.ElfsborgAddick said:letthegoodtimesroll said:

How much would you reduce season ticket prices to, and how much would you make matchday tickets?
They got too aggressive with prices this year and really need to have a freeze for a season.
Also, the whole of the North and the corner quadrants should be zone 3.3 -
Scrapping gold / silver categories would be a start.NJ constantly tells us all our games are tough / a challenge after all.We don’t need to temper demand by different pricing.We don’t need to extract every last penny from supporters.But we will.4

Not sure how many others there have been, but definitely Millwall and Pompey.

They can only charge away fans what they charge fans in the CE lower so if they want to make the most of a sold out JS they have to charge others more too. I don’t like it but I always thought that was (at least a large part) of the methodsuperclive98 said:
