  • Cawley has spoken!!!

When I said release Burke, I meant try and shift him on, even if that means a loan where we cover a large percentage of his wages, as we’ve done with Ahadme.

In my opinion, we have enough cover at CB, and I’d rather not waste a slot in the 25-man squad on someone who is unlikely to play much and, when he does, will probably pick up another injury.

It’s probably a moot point anyway, as I’m not convinced we’ll bring in Ouma, Holsgrove and a RW.

So you genuinely think Burke adds the same value to this squad as Ahadme?

In a 4 back Burke will be our 4th best/natural option behind Jones Koumetio and Sichenje.

Koumetio can’t stay fit, Sichenje we have no proof can stay fit, we may need to even throw Sichenje at RB if it comes down to it, Burke will be needed at some point.

Yes he is horribly injury prone but that doesn’t make him a bad option when he is there.

    I never said that.

If you read what I actually wrote, my opinion (we’re all entitled to one!) is that we have enough cover at CB. I see Bell as the first option to cover Billy, and Collins as the first option to cover Jones, with others able to step in if needed. And, if one of them was out for a prolonged period, you could always bring in cover in January.

So, all I’m saying (before people misinterpret what I’m trying to say again) is that I would sacrifice a CB before losing two midfielders, and as I said above, it’s probably a moot point anyway, because I’m not convinced we’ll bring in Ouma, Holsgrove and a RW.

It’s just an opinion - so relax!

If NJ wants to revert to 5 at the back, we're one CB short if you get rid of Burke...
We can't revert to 5 at the back, we don't have a RWB
  • You'd imagine club will be announcing it in the coming hours in that case

Ouma coming in on loan according to Cawley
So still keeping our powder dry or owners are not backing NJ?
Frees up the funds to make the big splash on Holsgrove still… right?

The powder is going to evaporate into the ether it’s being kept so dry!!😂
This is sensible business by the club

It's all gone quiet on Redmond?
Quiet, you fool! You might reawaken something.

Cawley says Ouma will be a loan with option to buy.
Very sensible. Wonder if it's an option or an obligation if certain criteria are met.
Like he can tie his own laces?
No. That he can turn up on time after being away on International duty.

Indeed, so much better this way then giving the player a 4 year contract and then they turn out to be shit after the first year

    Didn’t say it wasn’t
  • I mean, I can’t see a scenario where we don’t have millions left to spend if we were told the budget was the same yoy.

If the RW is also a loan we must have another splash coming

Wouldn't Ethan Brown be the most likely academy fullback to step up in a massive crisis?
    Isn’t he a centre back?
    Both are right backs.

Probably, but I think Valentine is technically better and has the most potential of the two. Also comfortable playing on the left, which I’m not sure Brown would be.

...  On good authority or wishful thinking?

You’d guess it would be upon survival of next season

If Rich has spoken I would expect an announcement latest 5pm.
  • Loan…interesting
Wonder if it means then that Holsgrove is also coming?

  • Very sensible in light of the bits about discipline/lateness.

With options to buy like this is a contract already agreed with the player so If we want to keep it's all done or can he be a massive success and another club come in he moves on and the option is pointless?

Does the remainder hinge on TC leaving?

With an option does that mean we have first dibs or if he does well can another club nip in and nab him.
  • Cawley says Ouma will be a loan with option to buy.
Still got £8 million to spend then
    No chance.

    not a clue!

    JUST HOPING HAHA

I suppose if we meet their valuation he's our's...
  • Someone link the Ouma comps I can't be asked to sift for them cheers
  • Cawley says Ouma will be a loan with option to buy.
    No issues with this whatsoever
Seems sensible - need to get a tag on him and clock his timekeeping and his ability to play other than just be strong and quick and could also free up the ‘holsgrove powder’ ?
  • Id love to be wrong but just can't see us bringing in Holsgrove at all, feels like he fancies a bigger move than us from what press are reporting

That's why I'm asking. Can someone offer more and nab him?
  • Loan with an option is good, though naturally it's always feels better to get a player in permanently. It could be to hold back some money for another transfer but there's also the chance that we've gazumped Partizan by agreeing to a fee we're willing to pay if we stay up this season but not if we don't. We will see, the important thing is we've signed a midfielder!

All the signs aren’t matching up with this theory,# powder has gone missing!!
