Being in NZ, i have no chance of ever being ITK but it is of some comfort to have a panoramic view from my office window of commuter trains, freight trains, and the occasional steam train. From the same window i can see a couple of passenger ferries. And an assortment of buses regularly rumble past.

I don't mean to brag but look at the girth of those railway sidings in the background. (for the nature lovers there is a few rabbits living in among the greenery on the bank)

If Millwall or Palace fans ever get ahold of this, we’re finished.

    (Send more train pics)
I've got you @ElliotCAFC . Note the Cargo ship (possibly livestock ferry) that has just arrived and at the far right ...Cranes!

I love that despite potentially being on the verge of one of our most mouth watering transfer in years if not decades, we've still turned the rumours thread into a transport thread. We will, rightly so, never change.

Absolutely beautiful if JRS comes off. Yes, I know Bell can play LB, and that Mesik seems to be able to play anywhere in the back 4, and that Docherty might still be here and Knibbs/JRC aren't here instead but blimey, it's nice to have some depth!!!
I make that 26 over 21s, so we'd have to let one player on there go along with Doc.
Hardly a problem. The answer is glaringly obvious on DDoublee's graphic.

I find our two-man midfield alarming. That formation only works with other clubs because they have at least one, and usually two, of the front four who can fall back and help with defending when necessary. I do not have much faith in any of our first-choice front four doing that effectively.

We will not be seeing many "0"s this season.
Not my graphic but it's a 3 man central midfield, same as we played last season in our 5-3-2. Carey/Knibbs/JRC or whoever plays in that attacking midfield will have to track back along, just as they had to last season. The wingers generally will too, making it a 4-5-1 when defending.

Carey will actually be playing in the 10, and although he has his weaknesses, his work rate is exceptional. TC and Grant are also more than willing to put a shift in without the ball. Rak-Sakyi is the main doubt defensively but if anyone can get him to work harder then it’s probably Nathan Jones

If we do pull off signing JRS (and word is it is done), this will have been a fantastic transfer window
It will have been, but I still don’t think we can raise expectations that much. Anything above last season’s 19th would still be a good performance
Nah, we’re going to win the league!

I’m trying to be cautiously optimistic about JRS signing, I think he does need to up his game based on his loan spells, but no doubt if he lives up to the JRS we remember but with experience it could be exciting. He hasn’t settled consistently anywhere, it’s time he did if rumours turn to fact.🤞

What number is JRS going to wear though? 22? 37? Is it really worth it?

If Docherty leaves to go Scotland, I'd imagine he'd that the 10. If not, 77 or 99?

Charlton fans think they will get JRS back however I doubt they could afford the fee so loan would be their only option. I doubt that will happen unless we can't sell him. I suspect the same with Esse.

It's that time of the window where selling clubs have to decide whether to drop their price, ship out on loan or just stick with him in the hope that they will improve.

If he chooses 77 or 99 I'll make him eat my season ticket

Sending Apter out would be mental. Leaves us in the exact same position we are in now with only one rw
Apter part of the squad this season said NJ and we are looking to add RW to challenge Apter …

Hope you've had a good wash after going on there.
You won't be saying that if I report it's confirmed.

I showed this post to a mate of mine who is a season ticket holder at Palace. His response was as follows :

“Can Charlton afford £5m with add-ons? Esse would be £10m with add-ons“

I can’t see us spending £5m on any player so if he does join us I suspect it’s another loan deal.

Would Palace prefer to get say £3m now rather than lose him for nothing next summer? He'll be 24 later this year so they wouldn't even get compensation.

Rich Cawley mentioned on his pod that Palace need to sell some players due to the UEFA financial fair play rules given they're playing European football this season.
