  • Who’s RoV?
Chief blowhard on the other site. The game's barely been finished an hour. I highly doubt the deal has even been officially cancelled yet, even if it will be, let alone has someone told him.
I mean it could’ve happened earlier today.

RoV saying that JRS deal is cancelled.
Even with what Jones has said, how is he going to know that so soon after the match?
Cos if you fling enough shit at a wall some of it will stick

Just the most Charlton thing ever. Two CBs going down at the same time, after 10 mins, just as we are starting to ride a wave and sign potentially transformational players.

Incredible if the JRS transfer falls through from here, but nothing would surprise me. Shows that depth is absolutely everything.
  • Absolute fucking madness to pull out the JRS deal now. Disgrace if that’s happened
  • I bet NJ has not even spoke to anyone outside his players, coaching staff and the media yet.

So how the deal has been cancelled already is beyond me.
Unless it happened earlier in the day

If there’s zero budget we have to cancel the JRS deal, if there’s enough to get us two meh loans for 6 months do that and keep the JRS deal in play
  • Where’s Stjohnshill when you need them?

People reading into NJ’s comments, nothing more than that.
  • Obviously no idea what to believe at this point but IF Palace really have pulled the plug last minute on Rak Sakyi going to us, could this be because Liverpool are pushing hard to sign Sarr from them?

This is what I'm kinda expecting ultimately, JRS and a Prem U21 cover CB on loan and then we look again at other moves in Jan.

Is Bell, Mesik and Jones (in a back 4) enough CBs to get through to January? Highly doubtful I would say.
  • All the ITK's need to fish out the information! Has JRS already signed or has his incoming been cancelled?

Sichenje can be “de-registered” until January so we don’t have to get an extra man out if we bring in an extra CB.
I hope JRS still goes ahead but that probably comes down to the budget if a loan fee and wages for a CB (and obvs we still have to pay Sichenje) takes us above what is available/agreed.

a CB has to be a fair way down the importance compared to a good RW surely, I know NJ likes to play in our penalty area for most of the game but come on!

Well this guarantees Burke will still be here and probably means we will be scrambling for a cb on loan which I assume wasn’t the plan
Rumours on the train home is that Burke got injured in training. 3 centre backs lost in a day

I’d be more surprised if Burke wasn’t injured.

Even if Sarr goes surely palace aren’t playing JRS

Mesik can play CB and LB as can Bell. Feel Asiimwe will stay now as a result as a LB.

Regardless of if we have to pay Collins if he has an ACL is irrelevant. Open the position to a player who can play and be done with it.

We can still sign JRS but overall, this is the hand we have been dealt so get on with it everyone and stop whining.

  • I just can’t see us cancelling an absolutely necessary rw who has the potential to be worth 15 -20 mill in the future for a cb who is a stop gap until billy is fit. I’d seriously question the intelligence of the recruitment team and smt if that were the case

It has to be jones being jones and just speaking with emotion.

Just throwing a name out there CB wise , wonder if we'd have a look at Tyler Bindon from Forest. Spent last season at Sheffield United on loan and fits the big unit category, isn't left footed though I don't think.

We must have to get on with it which means we can't be dissatisfied at how we have no right wingers

Worth remembering that Nathaniel Chalobah has played as a centre back particularly for England’s youth teams when he was younger

    Then we can cancel him.

For what it's worth, Apter didn't cover himself in glory so if Apter can go, we can sign JRS. It's like for like in that case.

I was over at Sparrows Lane earlier walking my dog and felt a very faint gust of wind. That must have caused it.

Bring back Coady on loan? Experienced, not needing to start every game, can pick a pass and been here before.

I hope we don't miss out on JRS, but all the news sounds glum tonight.
