Summer Window 2026 - Rumours and Discussion (DEADLINE DAY from Page 814)

No - like everyone else Im currently on the longest commute back to Surrey from WHL station. Am too depressed to even check with any sources and frankly doubt anyone would respond anyway4
-
Register Jason Pearce while we're at it and recreate the most chaotic centre half pairing I've ever seen. Can't remember what game it was.Whinger said:If big Billy and Collins are out long term, can we recall Zach and perhaps sign Naby, who is unattached?0 -
I’d be distraught if this scuppers JRS, but I’d still be pretty annoyed if this impacts Holsgrove. They just need a CB on loan7
-
I think if you asked any other fan base they’d definitely refer to him as a “professional prick” to be fair.EugenesAxe said:Jones needs to give his head a wobble he's meant to be a professional, prick.4 -
Are you sure? he spent most of it on his arsegolfaddick said:
Asiimwee was MOTM.Crispywood said:I’m actually glad Jones has put this team out going to be so relieving knowing it’s Docherty Apter and Asiimwe’s last game knowing they’re getting sold to meet squad registration rules0 -
We were not short, now we are two short after tonight. And we don’t know how serious Burke’s latest injury is.AberystwythAddick said:If we were that short at the back anyway why we’re even floating a deal for JRS surely the priority should’ve been another cb.The whole thing stinks0 -
As Cawley said the other day JRS/Right winger would be the final incoming.RonnieMoore said:I got a feeling that NJ is talking about another deal and not JRS .. and that one has to be scrapped to bring in a CB .. … there no way from the final whistle to the press interview has Rodwell and NJ had time to sit down to look at options ….Rodwell seemed in good spirits this morning on talksport ….NJ seemed pretty pissed if so maybe he can’t get his target after all Holsgrove deal is pulled
Just crap ain’t it how football changes so quickly
Don’t think JRS has signed and unfortunately I don’t think he will now

If anyone at the club has any management sense at all, they will all sleep on it, and reconvene in the morning as a playing staff, board, and ownership group to discuss the options and what to do next before making any kind of rash decision or cancelling anything.
I highly doubt anyone's sources will know anything because there won't be anything new to know until tomorrow at the earliest. Even Jim Rodwell probably doesn't know for sure what will be done next, yet.
The two injured players won't have even been properly medically assessed yet, apart from anything else.
If people are making decisions and canceling deals at 11 o'clock at night, after an emotional and disappointing evening, then they're not really fit to manage anything.23 -
Fucking jinxcantersaddick said:Win tonight. Sign JRS. Smash Preston. Finish the season unbeaten with zero injuries in a season.
A man can dream.18 -

Speculating like everyone else.
I can 100pc imagine it scuppers Holsgrove / the unexpected bonus signing that I was expecting.
But unless palace pulled the plug - surely a loan CB comes in?
Unless we literally don’t have a spare penny - and £4-5m becomes £2.5m as we have to spend the rest on CB cover.
But that doesn’t make sense. Loans are used in this scenario… otherwise we end up overloaded in CBs in 6 months time12 -
De register collins for 6 months get a loan
can still get JRS and the bonus maybe holsgrove
think NJ was being very emotional after think there will be a more sensible rethink tomorrow
could always loan out brooks and get a youngster aswell who doesnt count towards squad limit2 -
JRC - 4 year deal.3
-
Surely this is the most emotional manager in the world being emotional after a bad day at the office.
surely we can get a young premier league loan as back up.I can’t see how loosing some centre backs prevent the marquee signing
how can Joan’s get updates from the medical teams so fast without scans etc and how can big incoming transfer decisions be made in such a a short time after a game2 -
it's ok I have the keys to a bar.fenlandaddick said:EugenesAxe said:Haven't had a drink in 15 years, off to get pissed now.Sorry to make the evening worse you've just missed last orders0 -
If the signing of JRS played a factor in TC signing a new contract, we now have the risk of upsetting out inform player and current biggest asset.
the more I think about it, Jones’s comments were jones being jones and this is a non story6 -
Step forward Nathan Jones. smh.Exiled_Addick said:If anyone at the club has any management sense at all, they will all sleep on it, and reconvene in the morning as a playing staff, board, and ownership group to discuss the options and what to do next before making any kind of rash decision or cancelling anything.

We need a RW that can also play as a cent back. Someone like Kal Naismith.0

Think we're totally jinxed tbh.0

Not to be dramatic or anything but think this is up there as one of my worst days ever as a Charlton fan.Was originally pissed off at the team selection, and felt we were unnecessarily embarrassed when we could have given it a good go tonight with a stronger team.
That all becomes pretty irrelevant now and the least of our worries as it’s now most likely blown our big money deal for JRS.Just when things start looking genuinely positive for us with a 100% perfect start in the league, a brilliant atmosphere in and around the club, immense positivity from supporters, and it all comes crashing down again, in typical Charlton fashion. It really is the hope that kills you.I’m going to bed in a proper mood & I worry we’ll just continue this tomorrow. Night everyone.7 -

I'm.assuming JRS signed yesterday and if so we can't just rip up his contract.
I'm hoping NK was more talking about deals out for players like Assiimee rather than those coming in like JRS.
But we'll see in the morning.3 -
Yeah I'm struggling to make head or tail as to what was actually meant , hopefully you're more along the right lines with us now having to use a squad spot on Asiimwe for example which would weren't planning on having to do and that causing a bit of a rethink on the squad outs as opposed to " we can't sign JRS now we need to spend £2-4m on more CBs"golfaddick said:I'm.assuming JRS signed yesterday and if so we can't just rip up his contract.

I just don't understand how NJ as the manager and therefore pretty much the mouthpiece of the club can spout such utter bollocksMarcusH26 said:

As depressing as it is, if the choice is between JRS and a first choice CB if Billy is out long term I think the latter is more important. Hopeful we can manage a deal for both2
-
actually I do, never said a bad word against him before, I just dismay at his thought process, which hopefully doesn't impact anything too much. Don't care about the result tonight that's neither here nor there, But if he's making decisions that affect the whole season and beyond that concerns me, hopefully he's less reactionary than I am?Bedsaddick said:
