Any chance we convinced TC and Ramsay we were going to sign JRS to keep them to stay and as soon as they had we pulled the deal? 😂
or they know something we don't and the deal is still ON!!??!!
wouldn't be surprised - we're playing hardball knowing the player will join us anyway in the future for free if not now

I wonder what is going through JRS head at the moment, doesn’t seem to be able to settle anything anywhere, must be really frustrated.

If the player is willing to play Championship football I would be asking Arsenal to loan us Ethan Nwaneri - RW - last season’s Max Dowman equivalent rookie and he did ok at Marseille in his loan spell last season. Arsenal will not need a huge financial contribution I am sure.
Or Palace’s Romain Esse who was on loan at Cov last season. Arsenal are defo keen to loan Nwaneri but appreciate may be to a La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga etc or low end Prem team side rather than Championship.

O'Rourke is ex-Sky so very well connected. If he's talking like that about a player then its usually bang on.

O Rourke is usually on the money. Good signing.

Bindon? Surely not. Took him a bit of time to break into the Sheff Utd team but he was a mainstay after that and he's very highly rated. I'm surprised he hasn't gone somewhere else yet but he'd be a superb addition if Sichenje's out for the season. Is he comfortable playing on the left side of defence? I know Jones played there for us under Holden and Appleton but it didn't exactly go that well

Pretty sure Esse is going to Club Brugge for £10m+

Winger will be an interesting one going off what stjohnshill mentioned yesterday. Not a huge amount of names out there that fit the bill with Ogbene off the table thankfully. Someone like Gustavo Nunes at Brentford who had a stint at Swansea possibly? The newly promoted sides don't seem to have the depth to loan anyone out as much as I'd also love Sakamoto from Cov 😂. Romain Esse seems to be in talks with Club Brugge so he can be crossed off.

Really interesting close to the window methinks.

I do feel like there must be some sort of Big Club algorithm agents and coaching staff have access to that we've imperceptibly soared up over the last few weeks. Must be all these star players signing contracts or something. Millenic Alli feels like our final farewell to the old paradigm, poor bloke. Hope he somehow turns it around. Anyway, let's trust some more good stuff can happen

Fantastic loan signing. Surely that means Jones was right and Burke, Billy and Collins are out for a long time

Reactions from Reading and Sheff U fans to that post are very encouraging.

Two league games into the season and we have numerous players out injured. Is it just bad luck or poor scouting?

Poor funding. We’ve had to take risks because we’re in the bottom five (or even lower) of Champo player budgets.
We just come up from league one we are now where near being in par with 90 % of the championship .when it comes to budgets . the owners have done fantastic to supply the budgets they have since we got promoted .. but as we are told it’s small steps each year .. did you expect us to make an offer that would have broken out transfer record ??
  • Glad to see us not afraid to use the loan market. He is a great example - it works out, and we would have a proper chance to sign him next summer - just in time to coincide with Burke moving on.

In retrospect, i wouldnt be averse to a similar approach for a RW.

Main aim is to consolidate this season..... we have locked down 2 sellable assets this week in TC and KR.... not a problem if we borrow some quality in now.
Totally agree it’d be perfect use of the loan market, as is Arthur. Think he’s left footed as well?

Part of me wonders whether we're spending at least some of the JRS money on a loan fee so as to ensure he comes to us tbh. If so, probably a good use of that money

Played at LCB for Sheffield United so he can definitely play there, surprised we’ve managed to sort someone with that quality within 24 hours could very easily start opposed to being cover at LCB

Was trying to remember, he has played against us hasn’t he?, was it reading/ Blades? Or both,  he was good wasn’t he? Or am I making it up?

Bindon has reminded me of Nelson Abbey who was another Centre Back prospect at Reading, who left and went to Olympiakos, but is now in Portugal

To me , the Bindon signing suggests Collins could be out for the season.

I think that was suggested by the way he left the field at Spurs, mate

Marinakis signed both at once from Reading when they were in financial strife.

I remember him! He once had a storming game against us for an hour then we won 4-0. Brilliant defender
