    I really like Danny Mac's combination of the shithousery with good care of the ball and a quietly efficient use of it. He's better than Clarke on those parameters. Clarke gets into more dangerous attacking positions, but as we know, he wastes a lot of them. Danny Mac has only done that once I think,  but it was that really vicious half-volley in the 1st half against Derby, excellent technique and on target. I love him already. All that said, Harry Clarke did well for us last season, I was glad we got him in then.

    I’d see Dobson as a “nice to have” and would try to sign him provided the money required (fees + wages) wasn’t exorbitant. If Leicester are offering him a big contract I wouldn’t get into a bidding war.

    Tbf, he has been very impressive, no idea why they didn't want him.

    Totally agree.., I liked him but we need someone that feeds the frontline.. not just wing play … and he is defensive focused… yesterday there was very little service to Leaburn through the middle, although he did well with what he had tbf

    I really like Danny. I love a bit of nastiness in a player. Plus he is a decent footballer who can pass the ball.

    For what it’s worth, I don’t think JRC is going anywhere so we’ll keep 5 players who can play as the 6/8s. Knibbs seems to be slipping down the pecking order

    Knibbs is a number 10 and can play wide

    Agreed. The boy looks absolutely mustard. But let's not wreck him, by making him a cornerstone of the team aged 19. Give him minutes, yes, but let him play with freedom.

    Make no mistake, if we can keep him for a couple of years, we can build a team around him.

    I think we are only giving out 3 or 4 year contracts now if the player has a possibility of being a premiership player and is young.

    Dobbo fits neither of these so unless we can get him cheaply for a year or two, not happening and he'd be better off with a 3/4 year deal with a league one outfit that may get promoted in that time.

    He’s 19 and turns 20 next month, though I agree we don’t want to overplay him.
    Odd as NJ definitely referred to him as being 18!

    By the same token Mesik looks to have that edge to him as well...

    For me the change in formation requires full backs to be very good backs 1st and foremost so wingers can do their thing. Danny is a better full back.

    I think it will become less about who we choose and more about who someone else chooses. I don't think there's much of a market for Apter and Burke, one is always injured and the other hasn't looked good anywhere since last September so we might struggle to move them on. Asiimwe and Doc are both slightly unfortunate in that if they hung around and were required to play they'd do alright, but the squad limits stop that from happening. I'm sure there's a L1 team who would want Asiimwe and Doc has 129 Championship appearances across 4 seasons and no relegations. I saw someone say he isn't Championship quality the other day which is objectively untrue, he just gets left behind when a team wants to kick on and that's the phase we want to be in at the moment. I'm sure there will be moments this season where we'll wish we could throw him in but he's by far the most saleable odd one out
