I saw it mentioned that it was good that he was back in the team. They’ve had a bad league start this year but sounds like a lot of squad disruption.FishCostaFortune said:
Is that confirmed as I know some of the usual websites in the past have had the wrong information when it comes to Estoril line ups.mart77 said:Holsgrove on the bench against Benfica tonight. Be interesting to see if he comes on.
If so he’s finally made his way back from London.1 -

Or a loan that becomes permanent when he makes X number of appearances, possibly a number that's achievable before January to prove the medical issue is fine.SDAddick said:
A loan with an option to buy would mean it was a 6 month (or whatever, 3 month) loan as he's out of contract in the summer. Either way, as you mention, reduced risk. But there has been a lot of talk about his representation being a mess (my words), and maybe there being an issue with the medical. I just don't know how you get around the representation issue if there's any confusion over who represents him. To me, it's either a short term loan (until Jan.) or nothing. I think any other scenario is complicated on JRS' end._MrDick said:From what I’ve been reading, Palace need to get its wage bill down to 70% of its overall revenue (currently 75%) and have to shift at least 3 players. Names I’ve seen mentioned as outs are David Ozoh, Justin Devenny and JRS. Come tomorrow, Palace will be desparate to offload JRS, we’ll either get him for a much lower price - which will reduce our risk - or a loan with an option to buy. Just my thoughts, mind and may be way off the mark
The representation thing seems to be the biggest issue though. Buy clauses often require the contract to be negotiated at the beginning of the loan and Cawley said that JRS was being paid more at Sheffield Utd and Stoke than at Palace, an agent would need to negotiate that.
I wouldn't be surprised to see JRS stuck at Palace3 -
Not sure where the talk of no one being interested in Apter comes from. I actually think Apter is probably one of the deals Jones was referring too which he said were done and all we need to do is give the go ahead. Would make sense with us trying to sign a right winger that we wouldn’t let Apter go until we have a replacement. He had a shit year but what he’s done previously will mean there will still be takers6

You sure about much more? We're talking a few hundred minutes. About 5 full games. You're right about the loan though, just added to the evidence he's not a Championship player besides the obvious lack of physical presence.NabySarr said:
Apter has played much more championship than DKD. Also the main reason he’s been written off is he couldn’t even get in a league 1 team last season. If he’d gone away and had a good loan then we’d all be calling for him to be given a chance, but he didn’tPringlesCurtains said:
I think a few of us have written off Apter for similar, if not less, games...TheNotoriousBWP said:
He’s barely even been given a chance in fairness. Would be very harsh to completely write someone off when they’ve not even been given 10 games in the championship, and they were likely brief sub appearances as well.AberystwythAddick said:

It doesn't help the numbers game, but it might help his development.Southbank said:
It does not. He is underage so does not help the squad numbers.CafcSteve said:Mbick isn’t up to The Championship yet.
Would be happy for him to go out on loan to L1 if it means getting a striker in.
I'm high on Mbick and I think he's show little glimpses in his very brief cameos that there's something special about him, especially for his age. But given he's coming back from such a big injury, I wouldn't be overly surprised if we loaned him out for six months and tried to bring Jebbison in for that period of time. Maybe it will be the whole season. But I think the issue is fitness/sharpness with Mbick, not ability. And I just worry it's going to be hard for him to gain that fitness/sharpness when he's only coming on in cameos.
As mentioned, it would mean another outgoing though. I think JRC is safe at this point. He's started the season strong and played in every game. Harvey Knibbs has only played in the cup. Ditto Apter. So I think it will be one/both of them depending on the midfield situation. That would leave Carey, Grant, and JRC for the 10 spot (I believe Alli has also played there), which is a decent amount of cover.0 -
Same, it's why I alluded to a loan deal because if there's issues with his representation, any permanent deal would need to go through said representation. Six month loan to get him in the shop window at the very last minute maybe, but I don't think there's hope for much else with him. And I'm not banking on that six month loan either. I think that would be a Plan B or C for both parties (Palace and Charlton).fenaddick said:

I think you have misinterpreted my comment as support for Apter, I don't think he's good enough at this level and don't rate him. I am merely pointing out you don't need to see a lot to know if you think a player is up to it or not. Wrexham obviously feel the same way about DKD as we do about Apter.DDOUBLEE said:

Leaburn won’t be able to start every game (we’d be stupid to try and make him). If we don’t sign a striker then it’s likely Mbick starts some games coming up, so he’s going to get plenty of chances to get his fitness and sharpness back. After the international break with Kelman and Godden back it might be more difficult but he’s got to take his chance over the next few weeks to get ahead of them in the pecking orderSDAddick said:

One thing it does do is make Ogbene less likely. Which is great news as he's crapDennisBooth said:

Edited this on the grounds people get annoyed with the words “alleged” and “heard”.9

Am I the only one who thinks Mbick isn’t ready to start games in the Championship? I’ve seen nothing to suggest he is. Hanging around for ten mins here, fifteen minutes there isn’t going to help his development. A season long loan to League One is what he needs.22

See this is what I don't really get. He simply hasn't played for us since this time last year, except one terrible performance at Southampton where he was an absolute hiding to nothing like Paul Smyth that poor day we played him at wing back. Didn't make him a bad player as he has since proved with a very decent championship career. He just was played in the wrong position. The Red Robin said:I really liked the look of Apter this time last year but the reality is, he’s been nowhere near that level since for us or Bolton. I certainly don't want to see him regularly starting but I think he'll be getting more than 10 minutes here and there. I doubt Leaburn can do another 80 minutes on Wednesday for example, he was dead on his feet on Saturday. That could leave Mbick with 30 minutes to get stuck in. We also won't always be winning games and sometimes he'll be on with Leaburn/Kelman/GoddenLargeAddick said:Am I the only one who thinks Mbick isn’t ready to start games in the Championship? where does that come from though? Because a few on here suggested for no reason it could be his heart with no evidence of that.VanbrughHill said:Was mentioned to me on Saturday that (allegedly) Rak-Sakyi’s medical failed due to irregularities with his heart and hence seems to tie in with the fact that no-one has bought him permanently and if that’s the option we explored then the insurance on the length of contract must have been hefty. Apologies if this was mentioned before but I can’t be bothered to trawl through 500 pages of Rak-Sakyi chat. Hope I’ve heard incorrectly but I’d say chance of a permanent move tomorrow must surely be done if it’s true.0 -
Well we definitely need a RW and we were willing to spend millions on one…..
If it’s not Ogbene (who we could easily have got over Lincoln if we wanted him) and it’s not McCowatt (who we could easily have got over another Danish team) it’s surely gonna be someone pretty darn good if it isn’t JRS on reduced terms15 -
Who has had a very decent Championship career? Surely you're not talking about Apter..RC_CAFC said:

Edit: Paul Smyth, sorry. Thank fook for that.0 -
People are guessing. There is no way that kind of information would be leaked in any way shape or form at the moment. Aside from it being a breach of an individuals private medical records, it helps no one at all, certainly whilst the window is still openThe Red Robin said:

Fair point about Miles. But with Kelman due back soon (it seems) and then Godden after the international break I don't know that Mbick will get much of a look in or even make the bench when everyone is fit. And I worry that isn't the best for his development. LargeAddick said:NabySarr said:

His highlights and reviews from Colchester last season make me think he's at least close. Now close doesn't necessarily mean he's there but this season is such a small sample size that I wouldn't judge him much by that.Am I the only one who thinks Mbick isn’t ready to start games in the Championship? It's definitely a tough decision that weighs team needs (him not taking up a squad spot is massive) versus individual player needs (him being fourth choice, if that's the case, wouldn't be ideal for his development).1 -

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding what you're saying here mate. He's potentially got a heart issue from what you've heard and on the strength of that we should sign him tomorrow on a permanent?VanbrughHill said:Was mentioned to me on Saturday that (allegedly) Rak-Sakyi’s medical failed due to irregularities with his heart and hence seems to tie in with the fact that no-one has bought him permanently and if that’s the option we explored then the insurance on the length of contract must have been hefty.
