    Seems a Wrexham type signing if they stay down - seemed a conscious effort to sign Welsh players in the summer, Broadhead and Moore for a start, and apparently they were interested in Lewis Koumas on loan before he went to Hull.

    Damn it that we have to wait another couple of weeks until our future is known 100%. Just like when we missed out on all those players last year because we had to wait until after the play offs in late May when all the other teams had 3 weeks start on us.

    Think people are overestimating how big are pull is we’re not suddenly going to be able to attract the likes and quality of James who should be playing for a top 6 championship side nor do I think we can splash that sort of cash on one player

    I'd doubt it honestly. Lincoln will be in the same position we were last time - questions about whether they will survive the season or go back down, competing with "established" teams and having to take chances on either prospects or journeymen who would risk being relegated.
    With survival, we can start looking at "proven" Championship players and more established players will give us more consideration as we've proved we can at least survive in this league.
    There will be some we are competing with them for but not that many and honestly if it came to it we really should be the more attractive prospect for most of those players.

    Lincoln’s average wage bill is 3.5k in comparison ours was 6.5k when we went up. Even if we do go for the same players we’re in a position where we can financially bully them, like we did with Alex Mitchell and like other clubs like Preston did to us this year with Small and Offiah

    I read that their HIGHEST wage is 3.5k, not the average. If true it is mindblowing

    I mentioned him a few weeks ago on this thread, would be bonkers not to throw our hat in the ring but the entire championship will be after him (incl relegated prem teams) so wouldn’t hold out much hope.

    I read that their HIGHEST wage is 3.5k, not the average. If true it is mindblowing 
    it’s definitely the average either way there is no chance they’re going to be able to compete financially at this level when average at this level is 14k a week  I’m guessing they will heavily rely on prem loans, and even the core of their team 1/3 are 33+ years old, I’d be shocked if they don’t finish 24th next year.

    Lincoln going up is an amazing story, it's a bit like previous minnows like Burton and Yeovil, and to an extent Wycombe, where reaching the Championship feels like their ultimate level. 

    Cardiff are likely to come up in second well behind Lincoln, but they feel a far more natural Championship club, even if their team this season is worse than Lincoln's.

    Surprised to see TC and Leaburn as ones you would want/expect to see go (you didn’t specify which)

    IMO they’re both capable players to bring on from the bench/start games as squad players.  We definitely need a bit better than both if we’re to progress and get higher up the table.  If this who you expect to leave, then I can’t see how you arrived at that conclusion for either.  Especially when you’ve got the likes of Gillesphey as stay.  

    You could make an argument that the regular midfield 3 this season (Coventry, Docherty and Carey) are all players we should be looking to upgrade, and given the two wing backs are currently loanees, these are positions we need sorting (even with Edwards fit).

    I reckon Dykes has done enough to get himself a deal.  I think he deserves one too.  

    The team definitely needs some work in the summer.  To get better, we need to be able to start to compete with the likes of the Swansea’s for players like Galbraith etc.  we aren’t going to start attracting players at the top end of the division, but we’ve got to find our equivalent of some of the game changers we’ve seen at the likes of Soton and Norwich recently.  Players that can do something on the ball, and a bit more pace.  The foundations are there, but we need two more midfielders if we’re going 3-5-2 again, probably one more forward/slash winger/forward playing off a Dykes (if we get him), two wing backs and one more CB as Burke is made of glass and Gillesphey will likely be on his way (my opinion).

    I think it’s been mentioned on here before, but it would be better to get the budget to fund better players re: wages rather than outlay fees like we did apter and Olafe last season

    The two players I would have said were odds on certainties “to go” on any list coming from that poster.

    After this years relatively disappointing season for Birmingham, I can easily see them replace their manager and give the new man a war chest. Where does that leave Lyndon Dykes ? Probably won’t be in Brums plans and I’m thinking it’s likely he’ll move on. Definitely a player I’d like to see us sign but can we afford him ? Doubt there’s going to be a long queue at the top end of The Championship but I’d suspect that there will be a few clubs like us that might be interested. Even if we are able to get him in on a permanent or even another loan I would hope we’re looking for another striker as well. This seasons long lay off might have done Matty Godden some good but you still can’t forget his age and that injury. Leaburn, Kelman and Godden won’t be enough and I doubt it will even with Dykes.

    We signed Dykes permanently until the end of the season, so no chance he goes back to Birmingham.

    It’s been good enough to stay up this season so why wouldn’t it be good enough next season? And this season we’ve barely had Godden, and we’ve only had Dykes since January, and yet we are staying up pretty comfortably with Kelman, Leaburn and TC having been the main options for half of the season  

    With both of Godden and Dykes more regularly available, plus Leaburn, Kelman and TC all improving in their second full seasons at this level, and then Mbick as a bit of a wildcard, I don’t see why that frontline can’t get us to mid table next season. 

    I’m not 100% on keeping Godden, he needs to prove it over the next few games but Monday was a good start. If we do want to upgrade then he is probably the one that has to make way, unless we can’t keep Dykes

    Godden is an experienced player who probably can do one more year as a reserve and be an asset to the club.  The problem is we have lot of forwards -Leaburn, Kelman, TC- who are probably not starters in the Championship.  We need to bring a quality starter which might mean there won’t be room for Godden unless we sell the likes of TC or Leaburn which would really annoy our fanbase.

    I really like Dykes but think the quality striker upgrade replaces him. Some fans won’t like it but he’s not worth having as a back up as it blocks the pathway for Leaburn who is cheaper and has higher potential resale value. I wouldn’t be annoyed if we kept Dykes but I’d imagine it would mean not signing another striker

    Has a year option he’s one I’m very 50/50 on think it all comes down to his wages, what our budget is like and do we see our other forwards having much better years. Could have Leaburn dykes and Mbick as target men options and Kelman Godden TC as the small poacher forwards and focus all the priority to midfield it’s a tricky one whatever we do there’s always an argument for the alternative
