I’ve covered Stansted from 8am to 10am, so glad you carried on the good work 😂killerandflash said:I'm at Stansted, so keeping an eye out for anyone who looks like a footballer.3 -
His arms have gone.12

I would’ve gone up to £2m at a push for Clarke. Three and a half is crazy.15

get what you're saying but I bet IF TC goes, it's for an 'undisclosed' fee of c£2mfenaddick said:That deal puts into perspective TC’s value. Both have one year left, TC is three years younger, has a better injury record, a similar amount of appearances (Clarke has more in the Championship but also more in L2) and is an international player0 -
I am spending it alone, meditating.Garrymanilow said:So what’s everyone doing with their last half an hour of TC? I’m spending it with family1 -
They'll use the money that they just got for that player who forced himself out. Prob want a TC and Small wingback situation in the Champ.Elthamaddick said:

If he goes for that low in this market then Jim Rodwell might need to start looking for a new job. If you have Clarke going for £3.5m, Alli £1.5m, Brooks £8m and Kamara £3m ish then you need to be getting around £3-4m for TC.Elthamaddick said:

I’d bite your hand off for that, we have two left wingers as it is. Re invest for a right winger and a couple centre mids and it makes us more balanced anyway.fenaddick said:

No. Alli and Apter won't cut it at Championship level; too frail. We have already missed out on Kamara. JRS might work in the right formation, but there is a way to go before we sign him. We are not favourites to do so.sam3110 said:If you told everyone we'd go from:
TC

Grant

From the end of last season to the start of this, would you have taken it?
On paper, it's stronger and more balanced, and more suited to the shape we seem to be moving to.
Need that final winger to be a good addition though
And it is not a given that we will be playing with two wingers for long. NJ has been experimenting with it in our PSFs, and the results have been bloody awful. Two months of league defeats and NJ will be forced to return to what he understands best: 5-3-2 and hoofball.4 -
I'm not worried if TC goes or stays. Found him inconsistent last season but also called for him to be played as a winger so was happy he might have that chance.
Alfie May left and bed wetting was rife but we did okay I'd say.
Players come and go. Simple as that.10 -

You can’t sell off one of your best assets for cheap because you need to invest elsewhere, that’s how you continually get shafted in dealsYann897 said:

I’ve just watched a compilation of all of TC’s goals for Charlton. It was a very short video, mind.Garrymanilow said:So what’s everyone doing with their last half an hour of TC? I’m spending it with family
And that was with replaying the goals.

Add two centre mids to the list tooLaddick01 said:If we sell TC we then need 2 wingers, and both need pace. We can’t just go into the season with Apter as our RM and Alli as our only pacey threat.KG can do a good job across the line but he’ll then get burnt out.
We still have time to do business but with 12 days til Derby I’m starting to get a bit shaky.0 -
Harry Clarke signing for Stoke wait for it…. 3.5M
Now valuing TC at 6M1 -

Think Stoke have overpaid there….no way was he worth £3.5 million5

Let’s hope Stoke are as well.Crispywood said:Harry Clarke signing for Stoke wait for it…. 3.5M

Finally, a proper replacement for Rory Delap's long throws.NabySarr said:Harry Clarke off to Stoke for £3.5m. Think that’s quite a lot of money for him tbh7 -
Am I the only one who thinks that’s a good deal he has so much potential- he is a leader and will give everything for the team - he’s has the potential he just needs to play week in week out - I can’t believe we weren’t in for himct_addick said:Think Stoke have overpaid there….no way was he worth £3.5 million8 -

So your telling me Apter was worth £3m ???0

Harry Clarke was fine. He did an average championship job for us in a season where we lacked championship quality. But 3.5m?! Mental to me.4

TC is much quicker than Grant or Alli. In fact I'm surprised there are two faster players in EFL. Perhaps they didnt need to track back so much or get trebled up upon.
I think Grant is our best lone striker and should only be LW in an emergency.3 -
You think 3/4 million is cheap for tc ? That would be a great price for a position we already have two players in, use the money for else where for a more balanced squad.fenaddick said:

Hey! Ipswich think it's great too1 -
Apter was 22 when we signed him not 25 and wingers will always cost more than fullbacks. Not saying he is worth £3m but Apter's ceiling is much higher. Think he will go on to have a good career, whether its with us i'm not so sure.TheAddicks4Ever said:So your telling me Apter was worth £3m ???2 -

With Grant and Alli, we've replaced TC already.Pudds said:Like him or loath him, TC, like Godden and Lloyd Jones been carrying this team the past few seasons. He has been used out of position repeatedly, as our only attacking threat was often doubled up on, and without his threat we would have been relegated last season.
Even with our additions this season, I think he is likely one of our best value for money assets in the building. Commanding a modest salary compared to his value and output, as haphazard as it can be.
If we did sell him, I very much doubt that it would generate the level of fee that would be commensurate with the value he holds for us, especially when you consider hat to replace him would cost significantly more in both fee and salary, stretching our budget even further.
I hope he stays, regardless of signing a new deal, as I think losing him on a free less summer would actually be less expensive than replacing him this season. If he does sign a new deal, I hope its because he has the assurances that he will get gametime in his preferred position and the opportunity to show what he can do when there is more than one threat on the pitch for the opposition to mark.
Regardless, I expect him to prove the doubters wrong and go on to have an excellent career.
We need a right winger, but we needed one anyway.
No offence to Preston, but a move there is basically a sideways one, which reflects his level, which is a lower Championship winger.4 -
I'd bite your hand off for £45. That's nothing to do with TC, I'm just an extremely violent personYann897 said:
