Interview and media discussion points

There have been a few points coming out of recent interviews that I thought were interesting and maybe warranted their own thread for discussion. Partly it's the release of longer transcripts on RC's substack. Interested to hear how different people interpret the comments.
(to be clear, this isn't to copy and paste the full transcripts from the substack or elsewhere, just to pick out talking points - don't want anyone to get into copyright arguments, and the stack is well worth supporting)

Without wishing you to do my homework for me it would be helpful if you were to briefly list the ‘interesting’ comments to which you refer. I can then know what to focus on.0

Couple from after the Birmingham game that caught my eye:
1. Jones saying Apter and Tanto went on loan 'because they decided they wanted more game time than to help us in what we wanted to do'
2. Kelman saying something like he didn't completely bin off training the last few weeks but basically wasn't at it
Number 1 feels like a bit of a change in the narrative which is interesting. Lot of pelters at Jones for those moves at the time but this puts a different spin on it
On 2, I'm a big believer in Kelman and he is clearly taking responsibility, but is he basically saying he checked out the last few weeks because of not playing? People commented he wasn't at it for his recent sub apps. If so interesting that Jones has got him motivated again2 -
Ta.
1. I’d be surprised if Apter and Tanto weren’t shown the door once the season is over. Tanto isn’t really good enough but has some nuisance value late in games. Apter is talented but a luxury player that doesn’t fit in NJ’s system.
2. Agree with you on Kelman. I think he has learnt a lot this season football wise and mentally. He, arguably rightly, probably felt he should be starting games alongside Dykes rather than TC. Kelman will be a major player for us next season alongside a good ‘big man’ (Dykes and/or Leaburn).0 -
Sorry, got distracted before posting the follow up!
I think on Apter he could fit if he was willing to do the hard work defensively. Unfortunately doesn't seem like he was particularly, and Bolton fans saying the same thing there. Which is a shame, because he's exciting.
Those latest Jones comments definitely seem like a hardening of his stance so I do wonder if that points to exits as you say0
