    Now that should be next season’s kit, boots as well - none of these namby pamby injuries players get today. Obviously it wouldn’t be so great for the player on the other side of the tackle…

    As far as we know yes.

    The story, and I'm not sure what the source was, is that they we're found going mouldy in a cupboard at the Valley years later and we're burnt.

    Given how little regard Charlton and many other clubs have had for their history I can quite believe it but that doesn't make it true.
