U16s star Chetam Ezenwata is the winner of the 2026 Steve Clarke Trophy.

The annual award, which recognises outstanding progress at U16 level, was introduced by the Charlton Athletic Supporters' Trust (CAST) following Steve Clarke's passing in September 2020. A much-loved Addicks fan for over 50 years, Clarke was also a Valley Party candidate, Chair of the Supporters' Club, the first-ever Charlton Supporter Director and Chair of CAST between 2015 and 2016.

The criteria for the award are:

  • Contribution to the team performance
  • Consistent individual performance and progress
  • Outstanding personal qualities that contribute to and develop team ethic and togetherness
  • Educational achievements in the football scholarship

"Chetam has had a superb season, playing most of it with the U18s. He has progressed superbly throughout the season, being called up for an U16 England squad and also training with the first team in October. He has been superb off the pitch too, showing great humility to welcome younger players into the squad such as the U14 players."

Chetam attends the Harris Academy in Thamesmead where he is a senior prefect. He is a left-sided centre back and his role model is the Fulham and Nigeria defender Calvin Bassey. He expressed how grateful he is both for the support of all his family (especially his older brother) and the support of the Charlton Academy staff (in particular Jason Pearce).
