Got sent a 25% voucher, still makes my season ticket seat over £50.
If I could get a ticket for £20ish, I would totally go.0 -
laughable ticket prices*. A commercial venture as far as i can tell so the risk takers will have to take the loss. Certainly not an inclusive event so i think Paul Elliott's words are inappropriate on that basis.

I took a look into who is behind it via the Companies house website. One of its directors has a pretty strong internet presence as he is head of Nigerian State television, NTA. The other (Andrew Howes) has past or current involvement in 10+ other organisations but little to no info on him on the internet.

*edit- Wonder did anyone manage to get tickets at the early bird price of £18, as advertised prior to our game versus Preston?1 -

Apologies I've not looked through all the posts so someone else may have said this but kicking the final off about the same time as the Champions League Final ends is pretty dopey scheduling.
Why not play the final on Sunday?0 -
I hadn’t realised the Champions League final kicked off at 5pm until I checked after seeing your post. I had assumed it would be 8pmFortune 82nd Minute said:Apologies I've not looked through all the posts so someone else may have said this but kicking the final off about the same time as the Champions League Final ends is pretty dopey scheduling.

Probably about 1200-1500 people in here. A few players I recognise. No Bonne to boo. Azeez has scored already.2

Just announced that they’re showing it in the fanzone. With African, Indian and Jamaican food it sounds better than watching it at a Boxpark.Fortune 82nd Minute said:Apologies I've not looked through all the posts so someone else may have said this but kicking the final off about the same time as the Champions League Final ends is pretty dopey scheduling.

Some of my favorite cuisines. I would be all over that. Sod the football, go for the food! (Also go support Kahiem Dixon)JohnnyJoeyDeeDee said:

Shame they haven’t sold general admission tickets (and cheaply, I may add) for the fanzone for this!JohnnyJoeyDeeDee said:

Fotmob showing 27000 too. Looking on the highlights, there were clearly only a couple of thousand there at most.golfaddick said:

Not sure what the reason for this inflated figure is. Maybe the club have sold 27000 seats to whoever the organisers are and they haven’t managed to offload many, but because we sold them, it counts? I dunno, just guessing!

Suspect it's much more likely that they've just put in the (rough) capacity of the stadium. This isn't a big tournament, the coverage (and therefor data capture) is minimal at bestlordromford said:

Presumably you can just rock up to the fan zone and watch the Champions League final?sammy391 said:

So £60 a ticket or you can watch it on YouTube for free? It’s a bold business strategy, let’s see how it plays out7

All a bit of a mess so I hear. One of the DJ's didn't turn up & then the mixing desk was moved from where it usually is (a box above the family quadant) to outside in one of the stands. Then used the wrong cables to hook up with the PA system so no sounds for the first 20 mins. Then at the end the players ran off with the Announcers mic.

The crowd seemed to be well under 2000 for this 'prestigious' game.golfaddick said:All a bit of a mess so I hear. So I managed to go last night thanks to the code posted here. My appreciation to @OhMyGodden
for posting this up, which made the night of three Zimbabweans who were desperate to go, but could in no way justify the £60 ticket prices.
It was very odd being in the stadium and having fans in the AC stand and then a smattering in the covered end. There certainly felt like there were more Zimbabweans than there were Nigerian Supporters (this being the first time zimbabwe have played in the unity cup) but my goodness did they make a noise. How anyone coped in a full stadium during the world cup in 2010, or any AFCON final I do not know, but the 2,000 or so gathered still have my ears ringing today.
The match itself was of poor quality. really slow play, misplaced passes all over the place, and very few moments of quality. Nigeria were clearly the better side, but really didn't want to play much football, happy to allow Zimbabwe to press, but with very little upfront, I'm struggling to remember a real chance on target. Any actual attempt would I am sure have been well dealt with with Nigeria fielding wrexham keeper Arthur Okonkwo in goal.
The result was a bit of a walk in the park, and has been I would suspect set up purposefully for a Nigeria vs. Jamaica final should tonights game go to plan.
Other things to note would be the missed opportunity from the club of having the club shop open, the "dynamic" performance at half time from one of Zimbabweans leading music artists, and being able to park on Floyd road for a match!
For £10, it was well worth the evening out, but for £60 it's an absolute rip off. I do now have three more friends keen to come back to the valley for as they put it "a proper match!"
Any codes for saturday are greatly appreciated

Also just guessing but at £110 a ticket or whatever and a quoted sell out of 27,000, it would be interesting to see the Unity Cup accounts….lordromford said:

These discounts are great but so silly, a joke if you’ve paid full price. Just charge £25 in the first place7
