Murphy is playing as well as he ever has in this session. Looks like the world champion of 2 decades ago

Hope he wins it now.  As always I wanted Ronnie to get the record, but I’ve always enjoyed watching Murphy.  He wins it 21 years after his only title - amazing

Allen coming back really strongly. Man possessed even if Wu has made a few mistakes. Won the last 5 frames. With a couple of century breaks, a 145 highest total so far in this championship. Now 7 - 6 to him against Wu after being 6 - 2  down.

They may have to extend the tournament, this frame could go on forever.

Wu Yize v Mark Allen 7-7
The last frame lasted 1 hour 40 minutes, the longest ever frame at the World Championships.

frames shouldn't take longer than football matches, that was truly remarkable. anyone who didn't watch frame 14 of the afternoon session I'd suggest you check it out

    Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Two

In a nutshell that frame is an embarrassment to snooker, and the referees' and the players' association need to try to work out a way so that never happens again.

I can see Davis's pov. Not quite sure what more the ref could do under the rules but It was a bit tippy tappy with the reds and cos the black was over the pocket the ref should of stepped in way before . Allan had a 34? lead, even though he lost the frame so he wouldn't of wanted a re rack.

In a mutual re rack the scores are scrubbed.  In an enforced re rack ie  by the referee maybe there should be some way of advantaging the player who is leading although it is very rare.

Amended. Personally I thing the frame should've been re-racked with the points carried over into the next frame.

Crazy to think it’s 2026 yet we still might see one of the class of 92 in the final again.

    That black!!!

FYI tickets for next year go on general sale 2mo.  Just managed to get some for the first Friday of next year in the afternoon by signing up to the WST website - should be good.  Never been before

When does the contract with the Crucible end? Thought I read a while back that the championship was going to Saudi, assume for monetary purposes.

Extended this year. Crucible is being expanded so will have a temp home for a year or two soon. Saudi have pulled funding from lots of things in the last couple of weeks including snooker

Feel for Allan yesterday but can't believe he screwed up that black.

Heard that a woman tried to reach the players earlier in the final but was stopped by the ref

4 frames all so far between Murphy and Wu.

Honestly.  Even i would've potted it.  I understand the pressure but a pro snooker player should not be missing an almost straight black off the spot.

I'd have sleepless nights thinking about that black for a long time afterwards.

Made worse by seeing the bloke you'd all but beaten lead in the final the next day.

Great potting from Wu today though.

Yize looks very confident and carefree

interesting that O’Sullivan reckons he’ll be the main man in years to come.  Only 22, has more potential to grow than Xintong
