If there really wasn’t anything to gain from watching the opposition training sessions then they wouldn’t do it. Clearly, it seems, it must be worth the effort and the risk. What needs to be addressed is that balance between risk and reward. If they are guilty then they should forfeit their place in the play off final.Charlton and on said:Could see that happening. Not really sure what a proportionate penalty would be. Can't imagine they gain a huge amount watching training sessions after Middlesbrough have already played 46 games that they could have had scouts at.
But it's still cheating.4 -
They would presumably get insight into tactics and injuries. Which I would expect their data analysts to have a good steer on after a 46 game season.0

I'm assuming this happened as they wanted to know whether Hayden Hackney was fit to play or not.Charlton and on said:They would presumably get insight into tactics and injuries. Which I would expect their data analysts to have a good steer on after a 46 game season.1 -

He’s Roy Keane’s son in law,you would like to think he would put some manners on him.cabbles said:In the same game, Harwood Bellis did that and mocked Ayling for his stammer. I hope Hull slap the shit out of them in the final and Harwood Bellis gets a right kicking0 -
SCR will be implemented from the 26/27 season reportedly. Apparently 20/24 clubs voted in favour.
Will replace PSR and means clubs can spend 85% of revenue.0 -
Maybe our owners can buy a local taxi firm and sponsor the club ?DyerConsequences said:SCR will be implemented from the 26/27 season reportedly. Apparently 20/24 clubs voted in favour.

Surely all clubs already spend more than 85% of their revenue or are you saying clubs can’t spend more than 85% of their revenue? Confused.comDyerConsequences said:SCR will be implemented from the 26/27 season reportedly. Apparently 20/24 clubs voted in favour.

In most cases almost certainly. This explains it a bit more: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c072vd1vxeeoBedsaddick said:

So the 85% is only manager and player wages/transfers. So wouldn't include I assume other things outside that like facility and ground upgrades.
Owners can also put in £33m over 3 seasons, but no more than £15m in one season.0 -
Has it been confirmed anywhere that the 'spy' worked for Southampton ?
The fact that Southampton said they need longer to reply to the charge, does look suspicious.
It only needs one social media post saying it's the Saints analyst and it's gospel and it spreads quicker than the clap in Ayia Napa.

Hasn’t the spy already been matched to a staff member at the club, who was in the background of an Eckert pic from when he collected manager of the month. It stinks to high heaven and I’d love to see them kicked but sadly they won’t be. Big fine at worst I think. Hope Hull beat them.soapboxsam said:Has it been confirmed anywhere that the 'spy' worked for Southampton ?

Is that Rob Apter's side hustle?5

It’s was confirmed when Southampton didn’t say ‘we have no idea who that person is, and he doesn’t work or has worked for us’soapboxsam said:Has it been confirmed anywhere that the 'spy' worked for Southampton ?

The Boro players would have done the same celebration. We need shithousery in the gameguinnessaddick said:
What about the players doing it?EastTerrace said:Manager (if involved) and performance analyst to be immediately banned from football would be funny.
Then won’t affect the players and fans as much.
It would amuse me to see Southampton kicked out of the Playoffs, if for no other reason than to upset the cocky young kids giving it the big ‘un with their binoculars.

It was bad enough talking about top flight football like it only started in 1992 but speaking about the Championship as if this level of the football pyramid didn't exist before 2004 is arguably more ridiculous.Raith_C_Chattonell said:Quite an interesting table here re the 58 clubs that have appeared in the Championship since its start in 2004.
Cardiff, Derby and QPR being the main stay at 19 seasons, Preston 18, Ipswich and Bristol City 17. Charlton just 8, but we were busy in the Premiership for the first couple of years - as for the rest
